I am one of the caregivers for my friend with Stage IV adenocarcinoma. Her oncologist said *6-9 months* with NO treatement. I saw the pics of her lung and biopsy area and there are oodles of tumors.

She is seeking naturopathic help; her chemo is every 3 weeks, followed by a neulasta shot the next day. I, myself, am a 3 year breast cancer survivor, so I am aware of what she is going through, somewhat. My cancer was IIIa.

I am seeking a match for my friend that I could blog with regarding his or her personal experience with Stage IV cancer.

    Stage IV Also
I have Stage IV Adenocarcinoma of the lungs. I had 3 surgeries, chemo, radiation w/chemo, chemo again, and now I'm on Tarceva. My tumors were all removed and I had some microscopic cancer cells in the lymph nodes. The radiation took care of this along with the Tarceva so It has been 2 years and 4 months since my diagnosis. I take Grape Seed extract (OPC-3) and try to restrict my intake of sugar. I am having a problem with the last item as I seem to be craving sweets lately. I walk 1 mile per day on the treadmill and try to eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, fish and poultry and very little red meat. There is another website for lung cancer specifically where you can read blogs and ask questions. The website is the Inspire Lung Cancer Alliance Survivors. Here you will find lots of Stage IV survivors and their stories.

    Hope this helps.

    My father too
My father is also a stage IV lung cancer patient. He was diagnosed on sep 2008. He was on chemo for 2 months which didnt help at all. Then he was put on gefitinib tablets which took him till now. But now, looks like it stopped working and he suffers with severe breathlessness. So now he is just started with erbitux with taxol. Hope atleast this helps him.
