I just can't thank you all enough for the emotional support that you've all given me over the past couple of months. I really don't think I would have made it through without you!
I am happy to report that Mom is feeling alot better right now! I am feeling quite blessed!
If I can offer any advice in return to all of you... please never never never make the mistake of giving up hope. And never, I mean never take everything that you research online at face value. I have been making the mistake of painfully researching every single side effect from cancer, chemo, mental health, pain meds,etc... and absolutely driving myself nuts!!!!
Doctors, text books, websites...These things can never predict the future. Every case of cancer is unique as every patient is special!
My thoughts for today... I am no longer going to give myself any more DOT. COM DRAMA!
P.S-please tell me that I'm not the only one who makes themselves crazy by doing online research...
Hugs to all and keep rockin and rollin!

Minky...
I am one of those
Minky...
I am one of those who wants to know EVERYTHING - good and bad. And I just love statistics (sarcasm added for emphasis). I have read everything from I have a 10% chance of living 5 more years, to I have a 45% chance (not so bad....all things considered). I also found that my chances of getting ovarian cancer in the first place were very slim. Well....guess what? I got OVC anyway. The stats are not very accurate. There is a need to collect them, of course, but they can only predict trends - not individual outcomes.
Statistically, some of us will probably die from ovarian cancer. But some of us will die from something else. The only sure thing is that we will all die, but no one knows when or how.
I had a good friend who survived stomach cancer, then breast cancer. We all thought for sure she was living on borrowed time, but she fooled us. She got better and stronger, went back to work......then died in a car crash that 5 other people survived. Go figure.

Dear Allison,
I am so happy for you and your mom, I can hear the joy and relief in your post. I pray she continues to improve. Hugs n Prayers Bonnie
Hope is the best word ever. If you have hope then you can get through almost everything. Carlene that is an amazing story about your friend who survived cancer and it makes me realise that we all have our own destiny and we MUST LIVE each to the best that we can. Hope is what keeps me going because you never know what will happen tomorrow.
