After workout 30 minutes before breakfast on empty stomach:
1 -2 Probiotics (Quantum Probiotic Complex)

8 Central Chi teapills – (Central Chi) (Benefits - This formula is excellent for anyone described as: tired, weak, always feeling cold, weak digestion, feeling of heaviness, low immune level)
1 Multi-vitamin (Quantum Daily) (Benefits - is a premier formula to build power, strength and endurance and is a great fitness product for both men and women.* It is extremely beneficial in helping to metabolize fat and cholesterol as well as containing key nutrients in all essential categories:

1 Chlorella (Quantum Chlorella) (Benefits – One of your most powerful weapons against cancer is chlorella -- a unicellular, green algae. Due to its dense and nutrient-rich nature, chlorella offers your body a two-fold attack against cancer. 1 – 2 Digestive Enzymes (Karuna DuoZyme) (Benefits - digestive support which participates in both the gastric and intestinal phases of digestion. DuoZyme contains the acidulants betaine HCl and glutamic HCl, which help acidify gastric contents, creating a favorable environment for the proteolytic action of pepsin. Appropriate gastric acidity appears to be required for the normal absorption of iron, beta-carotene and vitamin B12 from food sources. Pancreatin and ox bile extract, contained in pH-sensitive microspheres, supplement the natural secretions of the pancreas and liver, and promote the intestinal phase of digestion.)
1 Coriolus (Quantum Coriolus Complex) (Benefits - acute immune-specific support featuring coriolus prepared by a proprietary fermentation process that makes its extraordinary, immune remodulating factors highly bio-available. All of my MD's know I take all this.bdee said:So
Do you do all of this with your doctor's permission. My doctor would not let me take the Multi Vitamin and the aspirin, I don't know about the rest of the stuff. He says if it is healthy to your body's cells, it is healthy to the cancer cells too.

I could not take any of this during chemo or preparing for surgery. I think I was allowed to do the Central Chi because my immune system was so low and I have a 5 year old bringing home germs from school. I have been done with chemo since Sept 2009 so that is when I really started on the supplements. Mainly because my immune system was sooooo bad. Also, I get my bloodwork done every 4 months and give her the readouts. By that she could tell I was still not absorbing my nutrients very well and that my liver was working hard detoxifying all the chemo and radiation out of my body. Her goal is to get my immune system in top notch to fight a cancer cell should one pop up.0 -

following your doctor's reasoning that "if its healthy to your body's cells, its healthy to the cancer cells too" what are we supposed to consume?.I was told by onc when all this started for me to stop all vitamins/minerals/supplements,etc I was taking and only do a multivitamin.I'm hoping I can go back to some of what I used to take once chemo ends.My diet was more or less determined by how ill I was at the time and reaction to treatment at the time.....steve0 -
I am a
strong believer in exercise and know for a fact that is why I recovered so well during my surgeries and treatments.
I have always been active, sports, running, jazzercise, aerobics, and weight training for the last 10+ years.
I have always taken vitamins but never from a store like GNC. Too many what if ingredenints (sp?) for me, and of course, eating properly.
Since everyone's DNA and chemistry is different, what is good for me may not be good for someone else.
Before I was DX, I did everything above except eating properly. I only ate about 1 meal a day and it was usually dinner and I did not hydrate myself properly either.
NOW,
Breakfast
Healthy breakfast bar from Fiber One or Kashi
Snack:
Fruit
Lunch:
Salad or soup or a healthy sandwhich like tuna, chicken salad, etc., or cereal
Dinner:
Workout nights = Protein shake (natural whey protein by Energy First)
Non-workout nights = A sensible dinner like salad w/a protein; cereal, eggs, chicken, baked potato
Vitamins:
Morning - Women's One-A-Day w/calcium
Evening - Folic acid pill and Caltrate D
Adding the protein shakes has helped my metabolism (sp?) and muscle repair as well as growth.
Example: I have been weight lifting for 10+ years (all natural), no supplements, etc. I weight around 140lbs (5'-5") and can bench press 145lbs. I am stronger now than I was before DX because of changing my eating habits as well as hydrating myself properly (74-96oz of water per day).
What made me feel REALLY GOOD was during a facial I was told my skin was beautiful and showed no signs of damage. She also indicated that water does the body good !!!!0 -

Our oncologist gave us the same information. Only a multi vitamin, nothing else, no herbs, no supplements, no buying stuff off the internet, none of that stuff. When I asked about things like green tea or foods rich in anti-oxidents, he said no. While foods high in anti-oxidents are good for you they are also good for your cancer cells. No aspirin while on Avastin. Just try and eat a healty diet and include everything you have been eating all along, don't make any drastic changes, it could do more harm than good while on chemo.
I am very interested in a naturalpath and will be doing some research on that and the above-listed supplements to ask bout next time since George is no longer on that horid Oxi.
Thanks for your list. I did note you did not start this until after chemo. I glad you noted that.

eating healthy so I started taking tons of vitamins (in addition to multi plus 2-3 nutrition drinks a day when working, retired now)minerals, supplements, creatine;DHEA, herbal stuff all because of poor diet. I also lifted weights(since teens, on and off) and used exercise bike(primarily for my COPD).
Stopped really lifting as **** hurt more and more prior to finally going to doctors and doing colonoscopy and finding out I was Stage 3c. In discussions with onc and radiologist priot to Tx start, they instructed me to stop everyhting I was taking but the multi (and as Tx continued, told me use nutrition drinks too-was losing appetite/weight,etc)as some vitaminms, as you say, might decrease effectiveness of Tx and/or be equally beneficially to tumor cells(like antioxidants, like C,E, selenium, etc).,All I take now is multi, nutrition drink or two, eat less meat and more fruit/veg, which I never did before Dx, being a carnivore (well-done steak and burgers). It just happened that as my appetite returned from chemo, desire for meat had decreased.Once chemo ends, (2 more hits to go)I plan on continuing eating more fruits/veg and less meat, will take multi but will ask to take D3,Q-10,creatine,DHEA and a few other things but I probably won;t take anything on my own.......Did not go thru what I went thru only to undo it all by taking stuff thats gonna hurt me again.....Steve
PS:Don't get me started on oxi-shouild be given to politicians until they become honest!!!!!0
