I guess I have my appetite back
My husband told me if I keep this up, I won't be able to get into "those cute little pants". I told him I did not care. This time last year, maybe. But not now. On Monday I have another CA125 drawn and I get the results of my CT scan. Those are the only numbers I care about, not whether those size 6 jeans still fit.
PS....the wings were great! I enjoyed every bite!

Before, I got sick I didn't
Before, I got sick I didn't realize how much I took small things for granted i.e, good hot wings! LOL!
It's so good to hear you've got a good appetite!
Your new look is fantastic!!! It's hip. :-)
Love,

First off, I like you new pic. You actually look much younger!!
I guess my appetite never left..LOL! I don't eat hot wings but 10 doesn't sound like alot to me. 10?? Hot wings are tiny, aren't they?
They are very small, yes. But I had such issues with eating for such a long time post-op. When I first came home, after 16 days of being fed via TPN in the hospital, it took me 3 days to eat one sausage biscuit from McDonald's.
For weeks, all I wanted to eat was fruit. Getting hard protein down was a chore, but my hemoglobin was so low, I had to keep at it. I worked harder at eating than I ever did at dieting. Damn cancer takes over your life and changes everything.

I am so jealous! Good for you! I am so darn hungry as I write but this chemo has left me so ill, I am starving but when I eat I get so ill. The pills don't help. I can actually taste those wings too. Who cares about those tiny pants eh? I would almost give anything to have some fat back on me again, after complaining lastyear of how much I had gained. Keep eating Hiss, I already told you how much I love your hair. You look beautiful. Actually all you ladies look beautiful.

I have some fluid retention, but honestly, I know the 10 pounds that I gained over my 10 rounds of weekly taxol can be attributed to my piggy- piggy- pigginess. I'd like to blame it on the steroids (which, of course, my sweet family does!) but I really think it was my consistent commitment to always finding room for tiramisu or cheesecake after dinner when I was feeling my best, and drinking the Carnation Instant Breakfast twice a day when my bowels were screwed up and I was on the low-residue diet. The fatigue kept me sedentary those 3 months and my appetite keep the calories pouring in. Voila! : 10 pounds of winter weight! I hope to walk some of this off, but need to knock off the 2nd helpings too. My digestion is still messed up, so I don't know why my BRAIN doesn't pay any attention to what's happening to my BODY!
Wings DO sound yummy! Could I get a dozen down before I had to high-tail it to the bathroom??! It would be a close call! Might be worth it! HA!0 -

I love tiramisu and cheesecake. In fact, I make a killer cheesecake, if I do say so myself. The steroids amp my appetite up big time, plus I bake when I'm stressed. Then I eat it.
My kids used to call one another, especially toward the end of their dad's terminal illness, to give the heads-up, "Mom's stressed.....she's baking again."0 -

That new wig and picture is just great! All of my wigs are artificial. I just gently wash them after turning them wrong side out in Woolite, dry like a sweater in a towel, put on the wig stand and let dry. They go back to the original shape. Never use a curling iron, but you can use hot rollers if you don't get them too hot. I never have had to on mine.
My oncologist wants me to stay about 10 pounds over my normal weight for sick times.... like surgery etc.
I do crave sweets though. Saundra0 -

Your post makes me feel much better. I too have put on about 8 - 10 pounds since chemo. I can't blame fluid retention because that has now gone. I try to blame the steriods for everything but the truth is my appetite. My chemo makes me feel nauseious and the only way to cure that is to eat. I try not to eat "bad foods" but I have to eat what I fancy or the nausea doesn't go away. I like cheese and savoury things but do manage to squeeze in thre occasional chocolate cake or shortbread I used to be a runner and was over a stone lighter before I was diagnosed, so my weight gain does concern me. I can't do much running now because of the fatigue.
I know once the chemo is over and the steriods stop I am hoping the weight will come off and I can do more exercise.
Now I am craving a cheese sandwich - will go and make one now!!110 -
Huge Fam!
I am a huge fan of the new 'do! You were gorgeous with the other one as well, but this style really frames your face!
I was told "protien & calories, protien & calories, protien & calories" when I was going through the chemo, and it really did help; the more I ate, the better I felt, and I had gotten way too skinny with the stress of the diagnosis and the surgery anyway, so I needed to put a few back on.
Let me just say that I look NOTHING like my photo anymore, which was about 6 months before diagnosis! Picture the same general features with 60 additional pounds on them!!!!
I am of the mind set that life is too short not to eat dessert first, and cheescake is a personal favorite! Can you share your recipie??0
