Sarah Update
Last Monday we made the decision to bring in hospice. As I write this, Sarah is sleeping comfortably and will be taking the next step in her journey within a day or two. For those of you doing battle with this monster, do not be disheartened by this news. Sarah has fought with every ounce of strength in her body, and my wish is that her strength will give you just a little more strength to keep up the fight and keep moving forward.
With love,
Dan
loving husband of Sarah, age 50, diagnosed 8/4/09, Stage 4. Parents of Will, 14, and Julia, 10.

I'm so sorry to hear it's come to this. It seems there are no words to say at a time like this other than I'll be thinking of you and I'm so glad Sarah isn't in pain.

For you all. How heartbroken I am, this is very sorrowful for us. I wish more could have been done as well. My heart and prayers are with you, Sarah and the kids as she makes it to the other side. I hope she is not in any pain, and glad she is sleeping peacefully.
Hugsss!

Sarah Update
Friends,
Early this morning Sarah died peacefully and with a smile on her face. I need to share this with you because this discussion board has been a great source of support for me during these last nine months.
We are all hurting, but there is a certain sense of relief knowing she is no longer in pain.

I am so sorry at the loss of your wife and mother. Sarah is no longer in pain. Your pain and grief is just starting. I am so sorry you have to go through this, Sarah was way too young. If you need anything, just want to talk, express feelings, please know that everyone on this board is grieving along with you. You and your children are family to this board and that will never change. Sincerely George and Tina.0 -
Sincerest Condolences to You and Family
Dan
Thanks for taking the time during your grieving to let everyone know. I cannot begin to imagine how you are feeling - words can seem so hollow at times like these.
From your words, it is apparent that you have handled Sarah's passing with all of the grace & dignity that any of us would want during a time like this.
It sounds like she transitioned peacefully with a smile on her face, as you say. If there is any comfort in that, it sounds like she was unaware of her pain.
Our thoughts are with you - I hope that Will and Julia will be alright, that has to be so hard on children. And I hope you can find some peace and calm as well in the days ahead.
My sincerest condolences in your hour of need.
