I know studies have concluded that exercise helps alleviate
the fatigue part of chemo(I guess if you have enough energy to exercise you can;t be too fatigued tho you might be after exercise), assuming your treatment involves chemo and I know my surgeon/onc both wanted me to walk as much as possible so I don't see how cardio can be a bad thing. Actually, you might want to urinate the chemo out of your body ASAP so I don't see how if sweating increasing that, how it can be a bad thing. Am I wrong? Steve0 -

I forced myself to walk while on Folfox and currently while on Xeloda and Avastin. I walk 3 miles fast with my sister and another friend. I have been able to work full time, ski , travel and do just about everything I always did. I think it has helped lessen side effects and helps my mental state.

Hi Steve,
My husband ****, works out as soon as he can after chemo. In the beginning, he would walk with the pump and he even did yoga. Now that he is on treatment #23 it takes him longer to recover. However, if he unhooks on Thursday, he is out jogging by Saturday. He is amazing and he was in great shape prior to his diagnosis. He has continued to jog about 4 miles 4 times a week (2 times during chemo week) and he goes to the gym and does weights. He feels this really helps his body, mind and spirit. He has also continued to surf this whole time. I no this is not the norm but it has really helped him.

I also believe in walking and running. Before I was DX I was a runner. I have switched to walking now. I guess I should consider running again but I love walking. Good for Steve to keep up his energy. My hero!!!
