I am being hopeful=newbie
back pain for 4 months now constantly. At first I went to my primary doctor who diagnosed
me with arthritis after taking Xrays and when medicine didn't help I went to gynocologist
and he did a transvaginal ultrasound and said everything looked good but I started having a
dark yellow vaginal discharge and then some brown spotting. Gyn did a swab test and it
came back negative for vaginitis. I need to tell you that I am 62 and have beenpostmenopausal for 12 years. I went back to clinic doctor because I have no insurance
and asked for a CA125 blood test it came back at 17 negative. In the meantime I went back
to other gyn and he wanted to do a D & C I had it done last week and am awaiting the results
I am afraid of what they are going to find in there. He seemed so positive that I was going
to have no cancer and he removed an endometrial polyp that he said was probably causing the
bleeding. I have had polyps removed before and they never bled out yellow or brown. I
still have the atrocious back ache and both hips and buttocks hurt and pain shoots down the
thigh on the left side. My primary doctor said it is fibromyalgia and started me on Savella
and Lyrica. I have had Xrays, Mri and CT scan of the spine all are negative. I am afraid
that I may havve bone mestastisis from uterine cancer. I have no insurance after having
excellent insurance for years as my husbands company closed. he is on Medicare but I have
nothing in the line of insurance. Can someone out there relate to this or at least pray
for me to not have this disease at this time. Thank you, Belva

Hi, so glad you responded to my post. Did they do a D&C on you as one of tests? I am still
trying to work full time and it is hard as I am on my feet all the time. Tonight I had
a pain that shot down my hip that almost took me to the floor. Did you have other symptoms
along with the discharge. Mine came on slowly and built up. I am really scared and my
husband isn't being very supportive saying shut up you don't have cancer and I;m tired
of hearing it you have fibromyalgia and get that cancer out of your head. Was your discharge
bloody or juDst colored like mine. Since the D C I have not had hardly any discharge.
Please let me know if you had a D & C because it sure would be scary to get negative
results and feel confident you didn't have it
. P.S I am having pain in my shoulders today also. Please let me how old you are an
d what type of uterine cancer you have. I will pray for you also beacause my Mother says
leave it ih. Le Lord's hands Love, Belva0 -

Welcome to the group...I am praying for you that you don't have to stay!
Your symptoms definitely do not ensure you have the Uterine Cancer....so hang in and wait
for the pathology report. Do you know if they did a CA125 test during your labs?
I would want them to ensure your Ovaries are okay if/when the path report comes out negative...just to be sure.
Your pain could be because of your standing all day...is the floor a cement one?
Are you wearing support hose, good shoes?
Sometimes we link all our ailments together and scare ourselves silly...try to stay calm and wait for the path report. We will be hear waiting to hear your news.
If it turns out you need to stay in our group...we will be here to support you every step of the way. These ladies rock!

Laurie, thanks for the encouraging response to my post. Yes I had a CA125 test done in
January and itcame back negative 17. What I am afraid of now is bone cancer maybe because
of metastisizes. i am awaiting my D & C results and I could probably be able to ta mke a
cancer diagnosis, but bone mestastisis is a different story. Iha ve had a MRI, CT scan andt
Xrays of spine and I would think that a cancer from metasticizing would show up in the bones.
At Ihis point I have to be hopeful about the outcome. Belva0 -

Hi Belva,
It sounds like you have had a good number of tests and I can understand your quest to find out the cause of your pain. However, it does seem that maybe you are very stressed about the possible diagnosis of cancer and may be interpreting every ache and pain as "cancer". I would expect that the MRI and CT scan of your spine, etc. would have identified cancer if it were present. At this point, until you get the results of your D&C and speak with your gynecologist, I think the best thing to do is try to focus on other things, eat healthy, exercise, and spend some time just "enjoying the moment". If the D&C is negative, talk to your gynecologist about ideas he/she may have on evaluating the pain you are experiencing.

Belva,
You sound so unsure of what's happening in the pain area. I will tell you I completed my treatments last July and until end of last year didn't have much in way of aches and pains in joints. Over last few months I've had rib pain, which went away after few months and now sacroiliac pain (buttox area) which is finally getting better. I've posted so many questions about pains after treatments and so much of it is due to the treatments. Side affects are huge to many of us, so might I suggest you consider this part of it. But...in your case doing the tests does bring relief too. I am an exerciser gal and did different types of exercise, yoga, and try to eat good and take vitamins.
Did you have radiation in pelvic area? If so (as in my case) it causes less moisture in tendons which affect the pain to increase. Keep us posted on what you find as you're in my prayers.
