Dear Norma,

I am going to MD Anderson for a second opinion. I have an appt the end of March. go to surgery this week for biopsy of the peritoneum. Please don't get discouraged reading my blogs; my cancer may have been platinum resistant. I don't feel like going to another place and am so tired of surgery, chemo, and sticks. As you all well know.

Diane

Oh, I'm sorry! I thought you might have a separate cancer blog. I am so glad to have found this place and please don't feel bad about being "discouraging." Where else can you go to talk about your feelings related to this frightening diagnosis and all that comes with it?

I must admit I find this board very difficult to navigate as unlike other boards. If you click on a user's name on another board (i.e. hystersisters) you get a choice to see all their previous post or threads started by them, here there is nothing. So you end up wading through all the messages to get the history if you want to see if you can relate to the particular poster, due to your symptoms. Fortunately I do not have a diagnosis of cancer or anything for that, for matter, just constant testing (hopefully it will stay that way) but for someone who has just been diagnosis, I could imagine this board is very frustrating.

jjmb126: when logged in, click on the person's name in blue box
jjmb126: Although everyone hasn't filled in their 'Profile', if you click on anyone's name in the blue box AFTER YOU ARE LOGGED IN, it will take you to that person's Profile. If they have posted their cancer journey history, you can easily reference that information that way. Some people do not like to post their Profile here, but I see no reason not to personally since my cancer is no secret, so you can read all about my diagnosis and treatment by doing that. And you will find that true of many of the posters here.

((((Diane)))). I am so glad that you are getting such an expert opinion! Please let us know what they say. Email me if you want to 'talk' off-board anytime, or if there is anything I can try and research for you. We are in this together and I am holding your hand across cyber-space. Please remember that in just over 3 months of treatment, I am back on the 'out of treatment' side again, and your turn-around may be faster than you are even hoping for. Hang onto your optimism and hope.

I will be at MD Anderson on March 22, 25, and 29th. I will wear a red carnation and be carrying a stuffed giraffe. Just joking. I will be there though. Love to treat you to lunch at the Waterfall Cafe. I would say you would know me. I am the bald one. But, there are lots of bald people all over M. D Anderson. It is the one place at which I don't feel out of place.

I am not at all discouraged by your blogs, honey. You have a wonderful attitude. I am constantly thinking of you and the others on this board and keeping us all in my prayers.
