Heading out the door for chemo 4

I know that anxious feeling/ I go for infusion #3 on Monday and I'm already dreading every minute. It'll be one more down and you are getting fab results.

Turn all of the side effects over to a power greater than yourself, and ask Him to remove them plus all anxiety with them. I think you will tolerate the chemo better with each additional dose. Maybe I just learded to handle them better. Saundra

I kinda know what you mean cos you know what you are letting yourself in for. However I look on it as ONE step nearer to the finish of the treatment when it will all be over. xxxx

My nurse quit and this upsets me as she know how to adjust my meds

One more in the rearview mirror
I can not only smell the chemo, I have that metal mouth taste for days. I always ask my husband if he can smell it, but he says he can't. Sorry about your nurse.

Just remember AZGRANDMA, you've already accomplished one more round...that's tremendous! I know it has to be physically and mentally draining but you did it. I often picture cancer as running cross country...you continue to jog through mountains and valleys, whether its raining or the sun is shining...just remember that there will be a rewarding finish line.

Minky - I so like how you have linked cancer treatment to running cross country. I used to be a runner and cross country to me was sooooooooooo hard. So YES your analogy is so spot on because there is a FINISHING line to cross and it makes all of the effort that you have put into getting well worth it when you can see the finishingf line and all of your friends and family waiting to cheer you on.

How long will he not sleep in your room? Several days after chemo or has it been continuous? I have a labrador retriever...he is a pup though...7 months old now. I read an article over the summer saying labradors are being used to sniff out ovarian cancer. I forget what magazine it was but I was totally impressed. Of course the article went on to say how ovarian is the deadliest of all the gyn cancers because it is not diagnosed until it is in the advanced stages. Labrador retrievers are being used experimentally to sniff out ovarian cancer and are having GREAT success.
