How many of you out there have copies of their PET scans on their home computers?????
Call me a nut, but I have every PET scan I’ve had with the reading doctor’s report on CD.
I have even gotten them before my doc gets them. They have really helped me in the decision process involved with this %^&$ cancer.

CT scans
I have a few CT scans on disc but not all of them. Man...I'd have one he11 of a big library if I did have them all. Maybe close to 50 "movies". That could be fun though. Here's my tumors on vacation at Cape Cod, here they are at the NJ Shore. There's my tumor's 3rd birthday party. Look how cute they look with their tiny hats! Here they are getting zapped by a RFA!
I find them interesting to look at but I do not try to decipher them, I let those who know how to read them do that. Otherwise I'd probably have them remove organs I really need!

Kerry, you're only a nut if you rent them out to people!

without a doctor's explanation. I do get all my blood test results and compare previous to current and note changes, every now and then comparing current results with first test I took and thought to get copy of. While I'm interested in my condition, for me, getting copies of all scans/tests won't enlighten me as much as talking with person who can interpret the report. As long as no bad news comes from scan or test.....Steve0 -

I used the PET scans to focus on where the crap was. My sister taught me this. She was told she had 6 months to live with breast cancer. She would visualize the chemo as PAC men eating up the cancer. That was 25 years back and she is still kicking. Call it nuts or is it the placebo effect??? All I know is it worked for her. So far it’s working for me. They had told me I had 2 years back in 08. Showed them!!!0 -

Have you ever heard of Robert Vandegrift ? He was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer with metastasis to both loves of the liver in December of 1996. The first 3 doctors he saw told him he had 6 months to live. He is still alive today and doing great.
He put copies of his CT-scans on his computer and erased the lesions from the liver every day. He really credits this to a large part of his recovery.
He has a website www.cancerstrategies.info. His email address is on the website. He has written a book and has other information that he will email you that is really good. He has an amazing story.

Dog scans
With X-Rays, I used to get an 8x10 and some wallet size,
but these new fangled things on disk tear my pockets.
(I get copies of all scans and keep 'em at home with the
typed reports and OP reports from surgery) (disks too)
(no pet scans, tho... they're radioactive!)0 -
Thanks BrendaBrenda3.16 said:Have you ever heard of

Kerry,
We have a friend who is a radiologist and we have brought all the scans to him. He has sat down with **** and gone over everything very thoroughly. **** really appreciates it.

Armchair Radiologist
When my husband (Crow71) goes in for a scan, I ask the folks to get me the scan on disk. We come home and I borrow my mom's laptop- i am a mac girl and the software wont run- and I compare scan to scan. So far so good. I have seen the shrinkage. Last time I could actually compare the specific tumors and see that they had gotten smaller! I know not to completely trust my untrained eye, but I have ZERO patience so I sit at the computer and pour over the scans.
My husband doesn't look at them! But I do give him my report!
Thanks for posting that Kerry- It makes me feel better to know that you all are doing the same thing!0 -
I didn't realize
I didn't know you could get a copy of your scans on CD. I only have the reports on paper from my scans. I am going to ask about this.
Since last fall I've had abdominal CT (before Dx and surgery), two chest CT (I had a PE), one full PET (pre-chemo), one full PET/CT (after 5 chemo Tx), and an abdominal MRI (follow-up on the first PET). I wonder how many of those I can get copies on CD?0
