Re-Starting Chemo Tomarrow
Al has his f/u appointment with all of the Dr.s tomarrow. First we see the neruosurgeon to see whats going on the the mets in his spine. Then we go to the oncologist to see about re-starting his chemo. Thank God for Hillman Cancer Ctr. all of the Dr.s are there on Thursdays
so we go from the 3rd fl. down to the second flr. into the treatment area where there is a bed waiting for him. Then the Doc's come to him. We also will be seeing Dr. Luketich at some
time during the day.
Guys I am really scared I don't think he is strong enough. He has really gone down hill in the last week or so. His appitite is down and he is nauseous all the time. I keep checking his temp. and seeing if he's juandice, pushing fluids, and PRAYING ALOT.
His kids are coming up they will be here Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday some time.
Our Grandaughters will be coming also. I am not expected to entertain any one they are coming to see what we need after his appt. and his daughter's birthday is Friday also.
I just hope he doen't end up in the hospital while they are visiting I think he will get very upset. So I am asking for extra prayers to get us through this first round of chemo. We will be taking it one treatment at a time. If it starts to get to much for him we will be stoping.
Thank you all for just being here for us.
God Bless,
Kath

Kath, I'm sorry
Kath,
I'm sorry things aren't better for you and Al. I pray for the both of you all the time. You are such a caring and loving wife and caregiver and Al is such a strong and determined man, he really is trying his best to beat this.
Roy went to Hillman Cancer Center, too and also to Dr. Luketich (Amy McBroom is so nice there). I understand how scared you are.....do you have any family in Pittsburgh to help you? How nice that his kids are coming this weekend! I hope the both of you can enjoy your time with them.
I will keep you both in my prayers and as I have said before , if there is ANYTHING I can help you with....anything at all...., please don't hesitate. I'm here for you and Al. I don't live far from you. Just let me know what I can do to help or if you just want to talk......I really do care.
Sending hugs and prayers,

I'll be saying
Hi Kath,
I'll be saying extra prayers for you and Al tomorrow. This is such a difficult time. I'm so happy to hear his kids and the grandkids are coming. That's wonderful. He'll probably be just fine once they get there. Sometimes family brings energy and excitement and it turns out to be a wonderful time. I know my dad does well when my kids are around and they play a game. I'll be thinking about you and praying. Once again my faith is being tested, but I'm doing my best to stay optimistic for both of us!!
Lots of hugs and prayers!!!

Hi Kathy and Al,
Thanks for your update. It is great that once you get to the hospital you just have to go from floor to floor, and that the drs will come to you. Does he have any anti nausea meds? I hear Emend is one of the best. Dad has been taking promethazine, and it has been working well. The visit from the family will prove to be very helpful for his spirit. Enjoy their visit as much as possible. You are both doing all of the right things. You can never look back at this experience and say, we should have, we could have, what if????? You and Al have done it all. He is getting the best possible care there is. Prayers are being said for you Al and your family daily. Keep us posted. Thinking of all of you at this time!

Susie,
Even though I haven't responded to much of your posts i have been reading them, Your journey has just began and its is a very much LONG journey, I have been down this journey since last APril fools day, and it was not an easy journey, I was scared, hopeless, didn't know what to do but everyday I just pulled up MY BIG GIRL PANTIES AND MOVED on, I knew i would get down this journey with all my friends on CSN I cried i laughed and i was scared. Jeff was diagnosed last April went through Chemo, had the IVOR LEWIS surgery in July, he was knocking on heavens door, for about 10 days, and my BIG GIRL PANTIES, wasn't working well, so William (as you will soon love to hear from) started helping me down this long journey of the road, and helping me about how to wear those BIG GIRL PANTIES, beleive me we have all wore them on this site, MUMPHY, BETTYINVEGAS, DONNA70, KITTEN0385 (she has passed on and how we miss her) AND MANY MORE ON THIS SITE, you see SUSIE, each day you wake up you will wonder what do i have to do today, so between, chemo, radiation, and whatever else you have to face for the day just know you will get through it. We are all here for each other, I have a long history of posts and if you just want to go back to approximately July of 09 you will see many posts on my Jeff. If you have any questions please ask I have probably walked them all.
Just know we are here for you, but remember KEEP YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES close by you will need them, trust me everyone has used them.
Love and hugs
Lori aka MOE0
