Hi peaches! I am not in
Hi peaches! I am not in your area, but, I got started with my oncologist thru my cancer center. There were several there, so, if I didn't like him, I could choose another. The main thing is you have to feel comfortable with them and trust them. Good luck!

Hi Peach
welcome to the side. Even if it is too far for to go for regular treatment I would highly recommend to go for consultation, get regiment and recommendation, and then find someone close. Teaching hospital and medical school oncologist usually stay on the top of new advances, I had lymph nodes involvement and was treated at UCLA. If you are interested write me a message and i give you references for UCLA Westwood or Santa Monica.

I will definitely recommend UCLA to my mom. Did you have chemotherapy? What was the course of treatment?0 -

I'm in the San Fernando Valley, but I know we have some members on this board in the Riverside area -- if you don't get responses from them, you might try re-posting with a subject line something like "Looking for oncologist in Riverside, CA," just so they don't overlook your post by mistake.

Yes, I did have Chemotherapy I would highly recommend it to everyone with lymph nodes involvement. My diagnosis after radical mastectomy was Stage IIIC, estrogen receptor positive, Her2 negative, June 2008. I had 6 cycles Taxetere/Cytoxan every 3 weeks plus Neulasta shot 24 hours after Chemo to boost immune system.
Good luck with your Mom treatment.
