Yep...
That first real shower after surgery is a simple joy, indeed!
Importantly, a step towards recovery, too.
Glad for you!
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I did not want to get out of the shower!!!
I look forward to my shower every night! It starts to be around 8pm and I wonder, "is it too early for my shower and jamies yet?" It feels so great. I have the heater going on in the bathroom and it's all steamy and warm.0 -
Shower-Awesome
I want a shower so so so bad. I had surgery on 2-11, they gave me a sponge bath on 2-15 and sent me home I have three drains and lots of incisions (3 on my stomach, both breasts, on arm pit, back flap) I dream of the day I can stand in that shower and just go aaaahhhhh. I don't think I'll get out till the hot water runs dry. Yah, we do get pretty excited over a shower don't we?? LOL

Wedding showers and baby showers were fun but nothing, absolutely nothing beats that 1st shower after you can take after having surgery. When I had my hysterectomy, I literally did not get out until the water was cold. It felt so good to have all that warmth and soapy water flowing over me. So when the time comes enjoy and put a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I am not a soaking in the tub kind of person but I had a friend that was allowed to shower after her surgery but was told not to take bathes for several weeks and she said her first tubby with bubbles was the best. She said she lite candles and staying in until she had an advanced case of prune body. So hoping you can shower soon Kari.

Today is the day, I am scared and excited at the same time since I have several incisions and two drains. It is amazing the things we take for granted everyday. What about shaving when can we shave our arm pit and how does that feel???
