UNofficial results of my CT/PET scan: DRUM ROLL>>>>>>>>>
MY PET/CT from yesterday WAS GOOD!!!! The radiologist told my DIL that NOTHING had uptake on the PET (NOTHING LIT UP!!) The enlarged node under my armpit: GONE! The one in my pelvis: GONE! The one by my stomach is now much smaller and DID NOT LIGHT UP!! I honestly don’t know what this means as far as me staying with my weekly taxol, and probably won’t know until I see my oncologist on the 27th, but the radiologist said “That’s a good PET scan. Congratulations!” My daughter-in-law was crying when she told me; SO happy! She’s on her way over with a bottle of champagne!!
WOO WOO!! I don’t want to celebrate TOO much without the official word, but this all looks sooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the first good news I've had, healthwise. since my recurrence in November, and though I know this doesn't mean I'm cured or even in remission since my CA125 is 47.2, it still is unexpected wonderful news that I am better than I was in November instead of worse! I can't wait to hear the 'official' word from my oncologist.

Wow
I am so so pleased to read your news. It is up-lifting to hear good news like yours. Your CA 125 is also fabulous. You must feel so relieved to think that all the treatment you have endured has finally paid off and you have such a good result. You go enjoy your champayne - you certainly deserve it

I am so surprised by my scan results. I seriously didn't even hope for a clear CT/PET; I was just hoping for no disease progression. But I'd already made an appointment with my gyn-onc (surgeon) in case I had a new tumor show up on my scan that could be biopsied for a tissue assay. I was so sure they'd be switching me to Doxil once my scan results came back, and i wanted to find out if adding Avastin to that would make sense. Now I don't know WHAT will be recommended for me! HA!
My guess is that we will still push on with this weekly Taxol. My CA125 is at 47.2, up from my low of 11 and down from my pre-recurrance-chemo high of 155. And it has been in the mid-40's for the last 4 chemos, and went up 2 points after the chemo I had a week ago Monday. So a NED scan was NOT expected at ALL!! I am confused. Happy, but confused. I will see my chemo oncologist on the 25th to talk this out, and am keeping my March 1st appointment with my gyn-onc to get his input and opinion on what to do now with these conflicting indicators. I am going to ask for a CA125 to be drawn on the 25th, so I will know whether it continues to rise before I get my 2nd opinion on March 1st on what to do next.
Meanwhile, we stopped chemo until I could get my scan and have these 2 oncologist consultations on the results. So I am enjoying this 3 week break from my weekly taxol-every-Monday; Nuepogen shot every Tues., Wed., & Thurs, that has been my life since Thanksgiving.0 -
