Lion what about a sling
I am guessing you have researched this and talked about it with doctors...there seems to be help in that area if you get the right surgeon and he's done his homework on you and your problem. I know I was happy to hear my surgeon placed a sling in at time of da vinci when he shared his results of his patients over the past three years that he had placed the sling in 3%. So far I am not considering myself continent yet at day 46 post my da vinci however it's getting better all the time...only 1/2 pad per day...I cut them in half because I am such a cheapo...and I do wear a depend at night with a full pad in it for fear of having to get up in the night and change the king sheets which is a total pain. I rarely have even dribles at night and pretty dry during the day less than 1 oz when I weigh it. I can usually make the depend with full pad work two or three nights before I have to start over with a new set up and then I only tear out the pad and replace.

I have to believe the sling has something to do with it ...but then again some lucky guys like Larry has only used one pad since surgery and you who have battled it for 3 years if I remember correctly. I hope you find a cure...as that is a stress NOONE needs to deal with in life.

I use pads by day...cut them in half and tape the opening with a fabric tape. Depends at night. I buy the Generic ones from CVS - not sure if you have them out in your parts or not. The Pads come 52 to a package and cost $9.99 on sale then I cut them in half so my daily cost of the pads are only $.09 per. I like the pads as they are pretty absorbant ...and at night I just where the depend type underpant but I also put in a full pad inside it then I can just discard that and put a new one in until it starts tearing it apart in about three days. ...I had to get up one night and change the bed when I had my cath in and it was not fun...so I guess I was parinoid about it and wanted to make sure I didn't leak at night. I wear breifs over the underpads too...it seemed bulky and big at first but I got used to it and doesn't bother me. I get up about 2 or 3 times a night to pee and only ever leak when sliding out of bed....otherwise, I hardly leak at night they said it's more to do with gravity than control...but I do also think the sling they put in helps too. Good luck with your surgery at NW. Its approaching fast as I recall.

I have done the research and the Injections are just a stop along the path that may lead to a Sling. My Doc has a plan and I like his plan-----so we'll see what's next. I like your attitude and enthusiasm, and it's folks like you that make me feel good about using CSN.

Sounds like you have a good plan and path to fix the problem. I will be seing my surgeon for the first time since the surgery on Wednesday. I will ask him the name of the sling he used and how it's supposed to work so I can recant on here. Best of luck with your search for dryness!
