Diet
I have come to the time when I can eat things again after the surgery and was wondering about any suggestions for good books on foods that fight cancer. I know that in a short while I will probably not be able or want to eat, but I and my wife need to research this.
Any recommendations? Thanks in advance for your replies.
God bless,
Steve

cookbooks
Hi Steve. I recommend looking over the nutritional suggestions in 'Anticancer : a new way of life / David Servan-Schreiber'. it's not a recipe book, but there are a lot of very good guidelines for the best cancer fighting foods.
Other books in my library include:
The cancer-fighting kitchen : nourishing, big-flavor recipes for cancer treatment and recovery by Rebecca Katz with Mat Edelson
The complete book of Ayurvedic home remedies by Vasant D. Lad
What to eat if you have cancer : a guide to adding nutritional therapy to your treatment plan by Maureen Keane and Daniella Chace
Warmly,

I also consult an onconological nutritionist. She's been great in helping me prepare for treatment.

in addition to Mick' suggestion and others you are sure to get, check out the Member Resource Library on this very site, Steve. I haven't looked in awhile, but they may have something.
Take care,

Foods that fight cancer
Hi Steven
I would recommend the book Foods that Fight cancer by Dr Richard Beliveau, who heads a cancer research department in a hospital in Montreal. He also appears everyweek on TV and his recipes get published in the Montreal Journal papers every Wednesday.

Best wishes,
Haagen Dazs Vanilla Honey Bee ice cream. Cream, milk, eggs, honey, vanilla extract. What's not to love? Best wishes as you (and I) embark on a new relationship with food.

foods that fight cancer
i know it is not a book recommendation, but i juiced before my radiation. i got a decent juicer and drank juices twice daily. i did fruits and veggies that boost your immune system, and a liquid multi vitamin, and a liquid immune booster. we all know fruits and veg are great cancer fighters. i have tried to use my juicer since radiation, but my mouth still burns. i am hoping that changes as i miss it. my emulsifier is good too, cause you get the fibre. they are both great ways to get in your 5 a day!0
