Ginger Tea
Even better is fresh ginger tea - slice off a couple of pieces, pour boiling water over them and steep for a few minutes, depending on how strong you like it, then strain Just be careful if you're on blood thinners, like Warfarin.0 -

Thanks for the info, but my husband is on Lovenox for Blood Clots so the ginger root would not be a good idea. But good to know...glad you mentioned the Blood Thinners.0 -

Since it came up, please advise OncoMan before taking on any new regimen. We often take vitamins and supplements and health store addititives without considering their impact on treatment. On occasion we are surprised to learn that even things that might normally be good for us or at least not harmful actually counter the best effects of chemotherapy.
Take care,

I was told by my oncologist to NOT take anything during treatment. I didn't even take vitamins. I then heard about ginger root and tried it but it didn't seem to do anything for me. Maybe it depends on the person, but whatever works for you.0 -

To 'not take anything', especially in dire straits, is rather stringent, don't you think? I was only suggesting that before taking anything, before even modifying diet in a significant way, you should be sure to consult with OncoMan. He or she will know if an all-water diet is good for you, for example, or should .
I have found over time that there are few if any absolutes with cancer. It makes for much longer responses to posts in places like this one, but it also leaves some doors open.

That's good to know. I drink ginger tea almost daily because I like it. I make mine from fresh grated ginger. My prayers go out for your husband and for you as his caregiver. I know the feeling of being a caregiver. Just know that you're not alone. God Bless you both.0
