Nice to hear outcomes like yours...to a zero March 3 PSA...that is the day I have my surgery....
Sounds like you have one of the best surgeons for Opens at Northwestern....I personally believe the skill of the Dr. whatever the procedure choosen is the single most important factor...along with God and a little luck. We will all send out good thoughts on that day!

Cath out and organ confined
Hi Nick here and both things sound like great news. I was also glad to be rid of the catheter and felt so free.Bet you will sleep better at night. Again remember walking and plenty of water. Good luck on the incontinence and other issues.
Prayers to you and hoping for a 0 psa in march for you...Nick Age 52 DaVinci on Sept 3rd of 2009.0 -

Thanks guys. Keeping up on the water and walking. For the most part, leakage seems to be more or less stress related (moving too quickly, sudden sneeze, cough, etc). Have been using about three pads a day. Have been fortunate at night that I do seem to be waking up with the urge and am able to get to the bathroom. So far, so good. Doing my exercises every day.0 -

catheter out
I share your joy, Joe! I had the thing hanging off me for five weeks; now I'm pad-free with very occasional dribbles. I did get one funny story out of it: overnight in the hosp. after surgery, nurse comes in, kneels down to collect my bag and empty it. I groggily feel a tug on the bed-linens, reach out and scratch his head, saying "OK, boy, I'll take you out in a minute." Followed by spasm and four-letter word. Nurse thought it was hilarious. John0
