I want to thank you all for bearing with me while I decided what to do. I will receive my first dose through a central line which my oncologist promised will be removed the same day and if I survive the first dose, I will get a port before the second dose is due. I'm not nearly as brave as the rest of you, but you have given me the courage to at least give it a try.

Jamie no one walks in there
Jamie no one walks in there the first time going la de da just another day....it is terrifying!!!But once you've done it, you'll see that it's not that bad.Look at the ladies who are in the middle of their treatment cyles...they are chatting, reading , eating, kidding around...they are not braver than you....they've just already faced the unknown and found that it's not so terrible after all. You'll be there too in a short while. So just take a deep breath and dive in there. We're all here to help you through each step.

    First day of chemo
    Hi Jamie,

I know what you are going through, I get my first treatment tomorrow also. But, Jamie,
you are stronger than you know.

Everything will be good, be strong, be angry that this has happened to you and you will not let this get you.

    FIGHT!

I am learning that with support, like the friends here and people we each know, you WILL get through this. I truly beleive it.

Good luck to you and my prayers are with you.

    You are
Stong and brave! It is very scary, and no one goes in the first time like it is no big deal. I cried. My husband had to stay home with my boys (they were all sick with the flu), so I stayed at my parents and my Dad dropped me off. I did not know how long it would take, so I didn't want him sitting around waiting for me, plus, my mom isn't so good, so I told him to go home and take care of her. I would call him when I was done. So, I was alone and scared. And you know what? When I stared to cry, the nurse sat down next to me, huged and talked to me. I thought I was alone, but all I had to do was look around. You will make it thru this! It changes you in many ways, and most of the changes are for the better. You will see. Prayers and hugs!

    You are Brave
Yes, You are VERY BRAVE. This is not easy, but it is very doeable. There are so many wonder ladies and men on this site to support you, Pray for you. I just had my second round of Chemo Tuesday and I have been at work Wed and today. I plan on working tommorrow. As you have heard, and will hear many times, drink, drink, drink lots of water. I have been very fortunate, I have had no nasuea (Thank the Good Lord for Ammend), I am just now loosing my hair, though I had it clipper cut on January 6th, I had my port in the 7th and my first round of chemo the 8th. I have had some heartburn, for that I take zantac. I got constipated for that I take a stool softener and if needed a laxative. The diagnosis alone is hard and knocks the breath out of you. Then the journey.... one thing you find, is how amazingly strong you are. God is awsome and he will not take you where he cannot get you through.
You have alot of amazing people here for you, you are never alone.

    God Bless.
