Hi Mesa2009. I had 31 nodes
Hi Mesa2009. I had 31 nodes removed, and also notice no sweat in that area. I'm not up on human anatomy, but my suspicion is that the sweat glands may be linked to the lymph system in some way. In any case, I decided not to be concerned, as long as everything else seems to be okay.0 -

I didn't, nor do I now, on that side as the rads killed my sweat glands.

I do not sweat on the side that my lymph nodes removed. And I also had 22 lymph nodes remove.
I'm new and just recently found this site. I had 27 lymph nodes removed from my left under arm. I've been told not over do things on my left side or I could end up with lymphedemia. Yuck! I totally took that to heart and have avoided exercise other than walking. My left arm has various areas that are numb or feel strange and I'm not sure if I will ever get all my feeling back. Can I safely exercise the left arm using weights and etc. and not worry about having an elephant arm?0 -

the latest research showed that light weight lifting can actually help prevent lymphedema. The key is to wait until you are fully healed, use light weights, and build up gradually. They don't understand why some develop lymphedema & some don't; perhaps it's a genetic predisposition that makes some more susceptible.
I was advised to consistently do my range of motion exercises for the rest of my life, to help avoid lymphedema, too.
Don't know if this helps you. I'm just sharing what I was told.0
