I haven't used that but not
I haven't used that but not everyone loses their eyebrows and eyelashes. I never totally lost my eyebrows nor all my eyelashes, although they did thin. This didn't happen until probably 2 months after I was finished with chemo. They seem to come back in pretty quickly, too.0 -
I would spend my $120 somewhere else
I've never used or even heard of this, but the words "$42.00" and "you'll need several tubes" seriously activate my bu**sh** detector.
Like MyTurn said, please remember that not everyone loses their eyebrows. I did 4 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan (I'm sorry, I don't remember what cocktail you're doing?), and my eyebrows stopped growing, but stayed exactly the same until toward the very end, then thinned out for a few weeks, then grew right back very quickly.
I would suggest that you take that $120 and spend it on cute hats, scarves, maybe a beautiful pair of earrings or lipstick -- things that help you feel feminine and attractive. For me, I found that was a worthwhile way to spend my money, and helped me feel better during chemo.

I agree with Traci. Spend that money where it will really do some good. It sounds like that lady was just trying to make a sale, which is really sad. Good luck!

Thanks
Thanks for the advice, I truly appreciate it. She was a very nice lady & was a tremdous help in selecting a wig. Very upfront, told me not to spend the $$ on a real hair wig. It was a very nice intimate store that caters to bc survivors. However, she hasn't had bc or lost her hair, so I thought I would ask my friends who have...thank you for the responses.
I'll spend my $$ elsewhere. Just a little nervous because my eyelashes are so thin to begin with. I have plenty of eyebrows & look forward to not plucking them every other day...always a silver lining.

I totally agree with the others. Why spend the money when you don't even know if it will happen.? I only lost some lashes on one side and my eyebrows thinned a little. That's awful costly too! Wish there was a miracle cure for the hair loss! But, it does come back shortly after Chemo. There is a class called "Look Good-Feel Better" that the ACS sponsors for all the Newbies out there going into Chemo. It's awesome! They give you tips on applying make-up, skin care, show you how to make a turban out of a t-shirt,etc..and send you home with a free bag of make-up and skin products. Just call and they can help you locate a class in your area. It is SO worth going!

I think everyone has given good advice. Save your money for something else that you might need. Do look into the ACS Looking Good Feeling Good in your area. Just call the ACS and see where and when might be coming up for you.

Echoing everyone else
I didn't lose my eyebrows and only lost the lashes after chemo ended. Everything is now back. I wish there was a miracle cream through, especially for the hair on your head! Good luck. And I agree, spend that $$ on some cute scarves.

I've always put effort into keeping my eyebrows well-shaped, so it was kind of nice when they stopped growing after I started chemo -- they just kind of froze in their perfect little shape, and I didn't have to pluck for a good couple of months -- or deal with any other facial hair during that time, for that matter.
When everything started growing again -- I had to go hunting to remember where I'd put my tweezers!

On scarves & hats! After reading this, I decided I wouldn't even think about trying such products. I've been having fun losing my hair and can live with losing more of it. And I'm getting some great scarves & hats! My DH said, "With all the cute scarves & hats you're finding, you're going to want to keep your hair short so you can wear them after your hair grows back!"
Smart man!

Guinea pig
Well ladies, it looks like I am going to be the "guinea pig" for this product. My friend bought a tube for me to try(against my wishes.) I start using it tomorrow & chemo on Monday. I have to put it on my brows & lashes twice a day.
Since she spent $$ on it...I hope it works.

I didn't lose my lashes or brows. They thinned out a bit but not enough to use false ones. I was on the same chemo as you, maybe you won't lose yours. Eyeliner and brow pencil were enough for me. I loved not having to shave! Thats a plus of chemo. I also got a free wig from the Cancer Society. I bought a few others too. It is a transition to go through, but you will be fine. I'm looking forward to the end of this hurdle! I'm about half way there.0 -

Don't waste your money with Brian Joseph's Lash and eyebrow Gel. Most people do not lose their eye brows during chemo because they are so slow growing.
I was sold 10 containers of Brian Joseph's Lash and eyebrow Gel by Strands Inc in Colorado Springs, CO for $400. There is NO ingrediant in the product that counter acts the effects of chemo. The product has never been scientifically proven to work. Brian Joseph's web site does not allow comments (says it doesn't get involved in social media) so no one is able to leave product reviews.
I had 6 months of chemo for breast cancer in 1999 and never lost my eyebrows.
I just completed chemo for ovarian cancer and lost my eyebrows and eyelashes after the 5th of 6 cycles of chemo while using Brian Joseph's product. I complained to Strands that it didn't work. They refused to give my money back. Anyway, I was easily and cheaply able to paint my eyebrows in with an eyebrow pencil so it was not a problem. My eyebrows and eyelashes quickly grew back in.
Beware of makeup claims as they do not have to be proven and are not monitored in any way.
