have any of you noticed a change to the better in your eyesight while using Avastin. It actually starves the tumor by stopping the blood flow to them and I was wondering if the decrease in blood flow to maybe clots in the eyes some of you may have and not be aware of relieves the pressure behind the eyes aiding in relief of blurred vision. It is being used as a relief to some eye patients in this way and being injected behind the eye and massaged in to spread it throughout the eye. It stops the blood flow to clots in which causes high blood pressure causing loss of vision and macular degeneration.......Just curious...

    avastin is being used in the
    avastin is being used in the treatment
    of macular degeneration ,it only helps the wet kind,
    and is injected (shudder) directly into the eye.

    and it may just be my imagination,i wear contacts and have really bad vision,
    but i think there may be a slight improvement in my vision since getting avastin.
    a couple times i saw something that i should not have been able to see(too far away)

    no such luck
    I was on Avastin for the longest time and my eyesight just got a bit worse; in fact I'm now in bifocals! :)

    Buzzard, I was on avastin far about 3 months and I did notice that my eyesight was starting to get better. I even told my wife that I didn't need to wear my glasses to drive anymore. Now that they tookme off the avastin my sight is back to the old vision. So I do think it helps.

    Eye sight improvement
    My oncologist sent me for an eye test because of an episode I had. The eye doc said it was a migraine and had nothing to do with my eyes. In fact he said that I had 20/20 vision. I have had to wear glasses to drive for years and have not had 20/20 vision since I was a kid. I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised. I`ve been on avatin for months now. I cdidn`t understand how my vision could improve but after reading your post, now I do. The eye doctor said I am on the verge of needing reading glasses in about 5 years but that`s it. I`ll just be happy to survive long enough to need reading glasses.
