Has anyone heard of Prostrcision from the Radiotherapy clinics of georgia

Yes, I've heard or Prostricision and went down and talked to them in person. The office was very nice, staff very pleasant and met with two Doctors including Dr.Critz the founder of the technique. After some frank talk with Dr. Critz he ran my 'numbers' through the database of his patients. My cure rate for 10 years only came out at about a 56% chance of being cancer free. The odd's were to low for me! When I told Dr. Critz that I had an appointment in Nashville Tn and then would make up my mind, He asked if I was going to See Dr. Smith at Vanderbilt, When I replied in the affirmitave, Dr. Critz replied, "He's one of the best you can find, please give him my regards when you meet with him". After meeting with Dr. Smith I signed the 'robotic form' and haven't looked back. I do have a small positive margin but knew it was a risk going in with a gleason 7. My six month PSA will be on Feb. 15 but right now happy with my 0.

I contacted RCG and spoke with Dr. Critz twice on the phone. He gave me a pretty good prognosis based on my particular situation. Then I discussed the treatment with my Doc.
According to my Doc, it's a choice based on a lot of factors:
- Your age
- Your PSA
- Your Gleason Score

There are some risks related to the RCG and some possible after affects that aren't in their literature. Your Doc can discuss these with you.

At age 66, PSA of 4.01 and Gleason score of 6 (3+3), I decided to go with the surgery and get rid of the source. Also, once you have the seeds/radiation treatment, then surgery is no longer an option if it doesn't work. I like to always have a back-up plan, so if the surgery didn't get it all, then I have radiation as a back-up to finish it off.

The decision is yours and you need to talk with your Doc to make the choice that makes sense for you.

I live in Atlanta and know of this group. I agree with you that once you have the seeds/radiation treatment, then surgery is no longer an option if it doesn't work. Like you, I will be having surgery (March 3) and "I like to always have a back-up plan, so if the surgery didn't get it all, then I have radiation as a back-up to finish it off".

Having said that, not everyone can have surgery for one resaon or another (or radiation for that matter)and at the end of the day the decision is yours and you need to believe in your choice as the best for you.
