Germinoma Germ cell

Hi my name is Jalanie I was diagnosed with germinoma germ cell tumor in my brain when I was 16. My pituritary gland no longer functions. I take a harmone replacement called cortef. I had chemo thepapy and 17 treatments of radiation. I was also left with adrenial insufficency and diabetes insepidus. I am 19 years old now and I'm cancer free. Every six months I have to have a MRI. I know that without the Lord in my life I wouldn't have mad it.

    Hello. I too, had a tumor on my pituitary gland as well. I also take cortef (along with a mecine-cabinet full of others) and underwent chemo.

    My 11 year old boy is fresh out of 6 weeks of radiation and 12 weeks of chemo. He is my hero. He has DI and takes ddavp at bedtime only. His first post MRI was two weeks ago and they said cancer free! It is too soon to tell about hormonal deficiencies. His brain activity is slower and he can't focus on tasks or schoolwork. I am praying this is temporary and that time will heal him.

    Congratulation on being cancer free too! Holy smokies, crazy!

    I am interested in the healing process and post radiation. The doctors don't give answers and everyone is different. Does or did anyone have a similar healing experience?

    I was diagnosed with a Germinoma brain tumor when I was 15. The cancer destroyed my pituitary glamd. I take DDAVP, synthroid and cortef. The cancer came back about a year later on my optic nerve. I have adrenal insufficiency, diabetes insepidus. High tone hearing loss. I just learned that the treatment ruined all my teeth, and I have dental implants now.
