Chemo experience yesterday

Good Morning Ladies,
Yesterday I had my 10th chemo treatment (2 weeks late). Had my Gemzar and was 5 minutes into Cisplatin when I started having chest pains. Called nurse and she stopped the drip and took blood pressure, oxygen level and temp.
Long story short, I ended up vomiting, pressure went down, EKG was good, heart and lungs good, had red rash, itcing and swelling. Seems like I am now allergic to Cisplatin.
My onc called in and talked to nurse and then me. She will change my Cisplatin to another platin, I think she said. But I see her next week.
Guess the chest pains were more like heart burn. You know me I have to analyze, I know God knows my body better than any doctor. I believe that the cisplatin has done what it needs to do before it begins to damage my ears, kidneys, etc. HE had my attention somewhat when I got sick (never been sick before) during treatment 8, and then 9, and now 10, but got the nurses and doctors attention when all the other stuff happened too!!
Needless to say I feel great this morning! Best I have felt with chemo since back in the Carbo/Taxol days in 2008!!

Hey Libby, what a positive attitude you have. Cisplatin does usually hit pretty once you develop the allergic reaction to it. I am sure it did what it was suppose to and you are so right .. on to the next regimen that well help. Praise the Lord for feeling Great!!

Hi Libby, love your attitide!! Is the 10th cis/gem? Where is your CA125now?
So glad you are feeling good today!
Hugs,
kathleen:)
Kathleen,
Monday was my 10th treatment of cis/gem with 4 more to go. Last CA125 was 12.2 November 30th. Because I am off schedule so often, I have not had a CA125 yet (need to complete A&B cycle). But will next week before I see my onc.
Praying with all the time in between CA has stayed the same or even dropped more (even with no cisplatin Monday!!).
Thanks,
Libby0
