New Golden Puppy Pic Posted to my Expressions - UPDATED NEW PIC - Take Another Look :)
Meet Blue Boy - he's named that right now, because the couple ties different color string on the pups to keep track of them. So, here he is at just 5 weeks old
We're trying to decide on names now.
Have you fell in love with that beautiful face?
Look at his beautiful head - and those arms and paws - oh my, he is something special! My boy is going to be a champion - I know he will be a "healer."
It would be another 2 weeks or so before we could get him - he has to be evaluated and measured to see if he is show quality like his Daddy. Daddy Golden's name is Jerry Lee - he is a "Best of Show" and "Best of Breed" and is in a Golden Hall of Fame, so he's got the potential to measure up like his papa. We are in line to receive him and all indications are looking good that we will.
Diane had wanted to see a picture, and everyone was chiming in with support of the new pup, so I wanted you all to see him - he's still at their home for a couple of more weeks.
A pic is out on my Expressions page. I looked at his little picture this morning and smiled, I'm trying to focus on that as everyone has posted - he is pure goodness and as Brooks said, will be the best medicine for both Kim and I. We have never gotten over the loss of Sundance and at times like this, I really miss him - but I asked Sunny last night if this would be ok and he barked back OK, Papa, it's OK
And Kathi - they are indeed a grand breed - I've always said Goldens are like "people in fur." Their purity, their honesty, well...they are special. They are such people dogs and I just keep waiting for them to talk - just like the Golden on the Bush Beans commercial, LOL
Thanks, Semis; for all of your support and for your kind posts - it does feel good to have you guys all around me. Enjoy the pic

Oh My! Craig he is toooo
Oh My! Craig he is toooo beautiful! Melts my heart!
He looks like a "Bear". Those EYES and the crossed paws. Very intelligent looking. Aw I want one (but Scooter is spoiled and loves his mama way too much to share me with anyone but the cat)
Aw..... How ever will you wait 3 weeks?

He is sooooo cute!My hubby
He is sooooo cute!My hubby and I are planning to buy a home and also adopt a labrador from the dog shelter after his treatment is over. Thanks for the pic.0 -
My heart has melted!!!
My golden's full AKC name was Rusty's Golden Dream...We combined mom and dad's name for this...
But, for us, he was always Rusty....lol!
You give me fond memories...when we visited the breeder, HE picked US! All of his brothers and sisters were all over us, as puppies do, and then tired of the game and went off. Rusty sat the whole time under a bush, till all was clear. Then, no fanfare...just walked over, plopped down in my lap, and gave me a look of "So, I've decided...when do we go home?".
When we brought him home, it was a loooooong drive...and that poor puppy got carsick...and then looked so ashamed!
When he was starting to lift his leg, just learning, he was a bit wobbly...and picked a pyrocantha bush to relieve himself on. Now these bushes have VERY long thorns...you can see where I'm going...he did, too...ended up with a swollen scrotum...VERY sick doggie...the vet saved it, but he doubted Rusty could continue the line...Funniest thing, from that point forward, for 12 years, he squatted to relieve himself...
One more (sorry). Of course, this is a 'retrieving' breed...and Rusty did it well...one day, in our backyard, a baby bird fell from it's nest. The first I knew of it was Rusty at the door, scratching to get in. He usually barked once..so I knew something was up. So, I looked out and there he was, with a wing sticking out of each side of his mouth, each flapping...he had this expression of "So, mom, PLEASE help...I don't know what to do next...I got him in my mouth...see???"
Thanks for the memories...I have always had great luck with my 4-legged friends...we even have a cat here that comes to 'visit' for coffee in the morning...
Hugs, Kathi0 -
Kinda looks like his Uncle Brooks!! LOL
He's beautiful.... He'll make a big inpact on you're guys life. I could never understand a house with no pets. Like I said Curly makes my day everyday.. She's here to hug with I need a hug and never leaves my side. My 4 year old Hunter said lastnight that she's just like one of us. "She's part or our family" Even at 4 he knows what a pet can bring to a house. We also have two cats who cuddle with me every night before bed. Many times laying in bed crying because of leg pain and they just love on me. Just like Curly, They seem to know when Dad needs some love. A pic is on my Expressions page of Curly too
Great Job Craig!!! Good looking pup!!

He's a cutie!
Omg Craig he is a cutie! I am so happy that you and Kim decided to get a puppy, what a wonderful addition to your family. I know that sundance would want you to be as happy as you were with him. Blue boy will give you so much joy and happiness, I can hardly wait for you! I'm excited!
Much puppy love!

What a cute yellow ball of
What a cute yellow ball of precious!!
Ya know Craig, of all the animals, I love dogs the most. I don't mean to offend anyone that thinks their cats, parrots, or whatever is best. It's just me. When I cowboyed for living, we had 4 border collies/McNabs that were like our kids. In fact, they were family.
We've only got one dog right now and she is my family. I know exactly what you're feeling. She is epitome of sweet and loving... and I'm lucky to be loved by her.0 -

I guess he could pass for that! I thought about that for a minute and started laughing!!! I remember the movie too! I'll tell him you said that, LOL
Of course to me, he just looks like an Angel wrapped in fur
I'm just so proud and happy - wish I could pass out cigars or something to everybody!
Such a wonderful feeling to share this with all of you and feel your joy
I've just got to figure out his name now.

Since his daddy is named Jerry Lee...
I've thought about Dakota Lee and then in a year or so, I'd love to get him a girlfriend and name her Cheyenne Leigh.
I thought about Shayenne - but that is uniquely Chicky
I'm sure she would give me the ok though, LOL

Will you show him, Craig?Sundanceh said:OR....

Our Lab is/was a show specimen. He has acquired points toward his championship. Our breeder would come and pick him up and take him to shows across the mid-east. We finally got tired of him being gone so much and he was then "retired" from the show ring. He's still a handsome dude and is so much of our lives. Anxious to hear the name that you end up calling him. Names are important. Especially if you plan to enter him in the show ring.

.... Shayenne would be an awesome name!!! sooooo adorable! it makes me want to go out and get one for myself so I could sleep with it at night! You are soooo going to be spoiling that puppy, I can see it now! I know I would be! My hubby brought me home a kitten a couple weeks ago, and she is a lunatic! So much fun, we named her "Boo" and she is a very affectionate, loving kitten, who likes to beat up our cute little beagle, Sophie, who we adopted a couple months ago, and is funny that this puppy loves our kittys! I have 2 other cats outside, that are huge, and once Sophie is let outside, the first thing she runs for is the cats! they're all good pals now! I can't wait till you get this lovely angel into your arms in a couple months, it's been a rough month here, and I know she will lighten up everything up for you!
Hugssss!

I changed my mind. I looked
I changed my mind. I looked up Ewoks and he's WAY prettier than they are.
I like Dakota Lee. Is Jerry Lee after Jerry Lee Lewis? Crazy piano player!! Saw him in person when I was about 13. Bobby Vinton. Chuck Berry. Herman and the Hermits. etc.... Ever notice how my mind flits about? Weird!0 -

And our winner tonight is - Diane
You're too smart! But you're right, the couple that owns Jerry Lee named him after Jerry Lee Lewis...his official name is "Great Balls of Fire" however they do those names.
I remember Herman and the Hermits - didn't they do "Henry the VIIIth I Am?"
Only us dinosaurs would know that one, LOL
And thank you for telling me that Blue Boy is better looking than an Ewok! As you say, WAY prettier
It's been a fun day and we have sure needed some fun with everything going on. Blue Boy is already taking on in the Sundance tradition to bring smiles to people's faces.
I like Dakota Lee too - and the girl will be Shayenne Leigh when we get her. That's got a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Dakota and Shayenne
I better work on Blue Boy 1st, LOL

Little Blue Boy is absolutely adorable. What is not to love about that face??? He will bring so much happiness to you and Kim. And all the work will be a great distraction, also a good thing. I love the name Dakota. However, I have to say that "Butch Cassidy" did come to mind HEHE.
Take care,
