I am sorry you have to go through this again. I pray this time it cures you forever {{hugs}}0 -
Good Luck Girl
I know you can do it, I hate that you have to do it again, I had to go through it twice myself and pray I never have to go through it again, but if I had to I would. I will keep you in my prayers, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. As for the liver transplant not sure about that, I would guess to say that having cancer might not make you a good candidate, but hopefully someone else will have more information for you.
Stay Strong
*HUGS*

Sorry
So sorry that you have to go through this again. Hoping that everything will go well with this round of chemo too as you said you tolerated the last round good. Good luck!

Hi Julie
I'm sending you
Hi Julie
I'm sending you hope and positive thoughts as you once again engage in the fight for your life - I'm saddened that you have to gear up for this again. I am hoping that the chemo will shrink the new mets.
I had asked one time when it was in my liver about transplants - and the irony in our situations is that if you have Cancer in the liver - then you are not eligible to be on the transplant list - this is what my oncologist told me, so it may not be the absolute truth, but that is just what he told me.
I'd check into it anyway, maybe this guy was wrong - wouldn't be the first time for him. I'd like to hear back on this if you decide to check it out.
Still here with you - Craig0 -

We're here for you with your chemo rounds again You did it once, you can do it again. I've been on chemo since last Feb, 2009 with no breaks except between surgeries. I'm so used to it now, it's like changing my colostomy bag, becoming "so routine". My liver has multiple mets, and I'm inoperable, but that's ok now, as long as they can keep this disease stabilized with the chemo, I'm fine. I wish you well, and am here whenever you need to talk!

on Folfiri with Avastin, and have been since Feb 2009, and I tolerate it pretty well, the side effects I had was hair thinning, which I did lose alot of hair, but cut it up to my shoulders, and it's been growing back now
I had alot of nausea at first also, which I got really good anti-nausea meds for, I would suggest some Emend and Dexamethasone, and abit of good ole maryjane for it! it does help, they tried just compazine and Zofran for me, but just those didn't work, they had to get me something better
Leaks from my nose and eyes at first, but I haven't had those in awhile, it seems the more I have, the less the side effects came, it wasn't as accumulative as I thought it would be, it just stayed the same for me now, which I know what to do for what, I just take the anti-nausea meds, keep my hands cleaned, constantly washing them, I had several blockages this year as well, which the doctors said was mainly from the scar tissue from the surgeries, and not the chemo though.
I also had alot of fatigue with it. Are you going to be on the pump?? the day after I was disconnected, I would be knocked out for about 3-4 days after, just really tired, and then you will eventually bounce back to yourself, you'll start feeling good again, and once that happens, then it's time to go for another treatment! You keep feeling like, Just when you're getting yourself up, you get knocked down again, but keep it going, you will feel better. I think I've had so much chemo now that I barely even feel the fatigue anymore like I used too. Sure, I get tired, but not as bad as it was.
Whatever you need to know, just ask! I'm here for ya, and will answer whatever! you'll be fine Julie, if I can do it, so can you
Hugsss!

Chemo Drugs
Hi Julie
Shayenne got you covered as she is doing what you will be doing.
I did the Oxy - Avastin - Xeloda mix myself. When it looked like I might do chemo again, I was planning a move to Folfiri 'cause I can't do Oxy anymore.
Keep us all in the loop.

Hi Julie,
I am on the same
Hi Julie,
I am on the same "cocktail" as you will be on - folfiri + avastan. I have tolerated it well & the best news is the CT scan shows IT IS WORKING! The cancer that I had in my colon was non-detectable without surgery & 3 of my 4 liver mets have decreased, with the 4th not growing. My main side effects are exhaustion (usually it is the worst after I am disconnectedd from the 46 hour pump) & I have had considerable hair loss. I have had had 7 treatments so far & am scheduled for #8 on Tuesday. I still have some hair but it is very thin & also wild! I usually wear a little cap or a scarf; my oncologist suggested even before I started on this chemo that I get a wig. I bought one, but haven't worn it yet. best of luck with this treatment ; it is certainly working for me!0 -
Julie, I don't believe you
Julie, I don't believe you can get a liver transplant for cancer within the liver.
Contraindications to Transplant:
* Sepsis outside the liver
* Cancer outside the liver
* Liver cancer0
