I have been through chemo radiation, surgery. Pre surgery I was diagnosed with colorectal T3N2. After surgery T2N0. I had surgery with complications around Sept5,2009. I have not had adjuvant chemo therapy yet. I am 4 months past surgery date. That means that I am way over due for adjuvant therapy. Question> is there any benefit in doing it at this late date? or is there any danger. I asked DR. they say do it, but no statistics on my situation( late therapy). There are no studies on this subject of late timing.I am NED(CT SCans Jan 7, 2010/ Lab work normal CEA normal <1 Any and all discussion appreciated. Thanks

    Do it
I had my 2nd resection in jan 09. 5 months of infection delayed chemo. The Dr said I was ned and didn't need chemo. 1 month later, 20 tumors popped up every where. I specifically asked to get chemo and I let the Dr talk me out of it. That was the biggest mistake of my life and will sooner than later kill me. I absolutely kick myself everyday for not insisting on chemo.

Thank you so much for letting me know about your situation. Do you think the chemo would have stopped the tumor progression? I thought that there was a certain time frame for the chemo to work. Thanks again for your information.

    Hi Elizabeth!
I sent ya a PM, but I think the sooner the better to do the chemo, to keep you in NED status longer as well, I wouldn't let it go. :)

Rather than re-post and upset people, it may be worthwhile to
search my previous posts regarding this.

Cancer rattles every victim to their bones; cancer kills. It takes
a tremendous amount of courage to go in directions that others
fear going, but only you can make that decision.

There is no guarantee that any present medical practice will
save a cancer victim. Likewise, there is no guarantee that any
alternative practice will save a cancer victim.

Some methods will cause second cancers and/or a tremendous
amount of permanent damage, regardless if they add time or not.

Other methods do not cause such problems, regardless if
    they add time or not.

Search the archives here, and read about the alternatives,
and read the stories of those that chose each path.......

The decision is yours alone; don't make it based on fear.

    Good health!
