My Onco is sending me to Cleveland clinic...anyone treated there???

Could use any info about the clinic .... where to stay... all that stuff!!! they will be doing my surgery...meeting with them next thursday, havent started my combo of chemo and rads before surgery yet.

    PET today?
    Hi Mark, your previous post confused me because you said you were Stage IIa (I seem to remember) and now I see you have possible lung mets and have a PET Scan today.

    I just wanted to tell you I'm saying a prayer for good results.

    I don't have any experience with the Cleveland Clinic but heard they are top notch so you will be in good hands. Wow, you sure have a long drive from Sault St. Marie so take it easy on I-75. Let us know how the PET goes. Sounds like your oncologist up there is on top of things and that is good. Best Wishes - Tina

    Contact the hospital and ask them for referrals for places to stay. I know there are organizzations that wil provide you with free or low cost lodging while you are being treated. If you need any other Cleveland questions anwered, just ask. However, I do not go to the Cleveland Clinc, my care si through University hospitals of Cleveland.

    I have an appointment with them on Monday to get a 3rd opinion. They have quite a bit of information on lodging, etc on their website clevelandclinic.org.

    I took our young daughter there twice (by myself) and found it to be a fantastic medical facility. We stayed at one of the recommended hotels which was nice. Everyone there was very helpful and professional. It wasn't for cancer but our experience was good.

    The place is world class for sure. I haven't been there but had friends who took their teen son there for treatment of a genetic autoimmune disease and I know they were very impressed with the doctors and facilities available there.
