Calcified Spots in Ovarie
Had a blood test yesterday and had a vag. ultrasound last week for a check-up because of Mother having O. cancer. Did some reading yesterday and the second sentence said a possibility of contracting O. Cancer could be from using talc for many years near the vaginal area. My Mom used talc all her life in her painties???? Maybe this was the cause. Has anyone ever experienced this in your family?
The Dr. said they have hardly ever seen calcium spots in the ovarie. Please help with my question if you can. Thanks - Suzanne

don't panic
Don't panic. I know it is easier said then done. I have no information on calcified spots on the ovaries but I did hear something about talcum powder use and cancer. I have no history of ovarian or breast cancer in my family and was diagnosed at the age of 41 with NO risk factors. The blood test drawn should include a ca125. Did your Mom recently die? Are you having symptoms or are you just nervous? Try not to read everything on the internet...it is very scary. Listen to what your doctor suggests. Get your ca125 results and your ultrasound report and take it from there. Good luck and let us know what happens!

I am very nervous I suppose. The test was for the CA 125 and i really don't know what else.
Yesterday I was in panic mode but am better today. Went to the book store and read a lot. The second sentence in the article of how you might contact this O.C. may be through talc if used continuously which my Mom did, forever! Then I felt like it was an answer from her to not worry so much! My Mom died 5yrs. ago at age 89, on the 4th of July! I'm 62. Thanks for your note - really appreciated.
