Possible Recurrence

I've been having some symptoms like before when I was diagnosed with IIIC Serous Papillary Adenocarcinoma with Psammoma Bodies in Nov 08. I saw my onoclogist yesterday and she felt something and my CA-125 is up, so next Wednesday I have scans again. This was my second 3-month check-up since chemo, so just a six-month remission. I tried to stay realistic that this could happen, but it still hit like a ton of bricks. But I take strength from you wonderful ladies who have had occurrence after occurrence and still stay strong. Thank you for your inspiration.

Sorry to hear
But remember Bonnie...7 years without a remission and writing and counseling us all everyday......Saundra...Stage 4...doing well...Kayandok...same thing. I think this disease is treated as a chronic condition. But even before I get ahead of myself here, we don't know. Good Luck with your upcoming tests.. I will be praying for NED...I will be with you in spirit during those tests. You are supported and cared about by some very special people..0 -
Keep hope
Mawty,
I too was diagnosed with papillary serous ovarian, stage IV, Sept. 08. I am having my first confirmed reoccurence after 8 months of remission. My ca125 is still normal but my surgeon went on a 'hunch' from my bowel symptoms. My 6 month ct scan and ca125 was normal. A petscan showed a small area on my colon that was confirmed by biopsy. Yes, even though I knew it was possible it is still devastating. Still have hope that your scan will be normal!!! I too think of Bonnie with 7 years behind her and the other ladies. Despite starting my new treatment on Monday Jan. 4th I am hopeful this chemo will hold the cancer at bay. Let us know how your scan comes out. Good luck to you!!!

Marty,
I understand the "ton of bricks" feeling and as much we tell ourselves that it might, could, may happen, you just want so badly to believe that you will be cured. And really if you think otherwise, you will get depressed and not even enjoy the NED months/years you are given. Take heart, you never know until you know and then you just have to deal with whatever it is you find out. I hope it is nothing but scar tissue. Keep us posted.

Marty,
I too was surprised to find mine back so soon. But as others have said sometimes it is chronic, sometimes though it never comes back.
Stay strong and keep us posted as we keep you lifted up in prayer.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I'm in a much better place in my head today and feeling more positive, not projecting ahead. I think that's one of my downfalls, is hearing something and then thinking the worst. But then when I take time to really think about it and pray, I back off that and have a more positive view.
I appreciate you ladies so much and have been praying for you too. It's wonderful to have people to talk to who have been through the same thing or are going through the same thing.
Blessings on you all. And I'll let you know what I find out next Wednesday.
