My dad in hospital

Well, my dad is in the hospital. He has a fever,vomitting and bad chest pains. As of right now all the intestines look fine and it's not his heart. The damn stent is what the problem has to be. The vomitting has stopped for now, but the pain is still there. He's down to 149 pounds now. He has not been eating and REFUSES the feeding tube. I don't know what else to do with him. I know I should be happy the intestines aren't blocked, but my goodness. AND, with him being so stubborn wanting to do everything his way. It's just so awful. Anyway, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I'll update when I know what's going on.

    Hi E,

    Sorry to here dad is sick and in the hospital. Hopefully it may just be one of those bugs
    going around. Al weight is down also to about the same as your dads. This is something that we need to discuss with the Drs next week. Al said he really doesn't want another feeding tube either, Hopefully I will be able to talk him into it.

    Your dad has always been stubborn, hopefully he will change his mind.

    You and your family are always in our prayers.

    Hi,

    I really do want to scream!!!! I just got off the phone with my parents. Dad is doing ok, he's really halucinating(sp) He thougth I was in the room. He was doing better by the time we hung up. It's just all so crazy. I have another post out there about the feeding tube. I'm really praying we can get him to realize he needs to tube. I feel this will be his only chance to fight this. He's so thin and of course weak. Please do keep praying for them. We need to get him through this part. This is like a MAJOR pot hole they fell into. His spirits are still good, of course, when your high, you are always happy I suppose. His dinner tray came him, some broth. Hopefully he'll eat it and not give my mom a fit with that.

    Hi my dear friend Erika,
    Sorry to hear you are going through this problem. I swear our dads are like two peas in a pod. And my dad also weighs 150 lbs now. My dad just had two stents put in on December 22. One in his esophagus, and one in his bile duct. So far so good. Tell your dad to take all of his stubborness and anger and put it towards this problem. Fight. Can the drs talk to him and possibly convince him he has to get this feeding tube? You are all in my prayers. Best of luck to you and your mom, as you are his main caregivers.
