Pain In Right Side!

Hi all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I sure did! I'm about to make some chicken marsala and lasagna for dinner :) cooking it early, so I can go to the movies tonight as well! did everyone get what they wanted? :)

I was just wondering if it's normal or if anyone has had any kind of pain on their right side, I seem to yawn alot, and when I inhale deeply from the yawn, I feel some pain in my right side, it's kind of scaring me, it doesn't hurt alot, I just got disconnected from chemo, and then the pain started abit the next day, could this be my liver? I been kind of nervous when I heard from the nurse practitioner that my cea rose just a tad, and liver enzymes were alittle high, though not enough to worry about, but they will be watching it, making sure nothing is getting bigger there, and I get scans on Jan 14. But, the pain is only when I yawn deeply, it's just weird, does anyone ever have this?

    Hey Donna

    I got pain when I yawn too,it's a very sharp pain - but's it the lungs still although on the right side where they operated and I'm still recovering.

    It's strange indeed...lasanga and the movies - sounds good - you should come over and get us motivated, LOL :)

    Dear Donna,since you are going to have a scan on Jan 14,I am sure you will check this out with the doctor soon.I hope there is nothing wrong,maybe it is from nerve.My husband had pain from time to time on his left side,comes and goes,they did a couple of scan,they found nothing wrong,the doctor says maybe it is from nerve or muscle.Hope everything goes well with you.Happy new year!

    A gallbladder attack causes liver enzymes to rise, too. Deep breath, stitch in your side... Still sounds like gallbladder to me. :o)

    Sounds like you've got a great evening planned. What are you going to see?

    I have posted before regarding right side pain in the liver, it was kind of tender to turn or breath deeply, even laugh. When I went to get a scan it was showing liver tumors shrinking. I was feeling pain when they were actually shrinking. I started having progression in the tumors, and having no pain. Go figure. Pain doesn't always mean progression. What were your cea levels? Are Cea levels a good indicator for you? My Dr. knew when my levels went up that their was something going on so, he did a scan immediatly. Some people have a rise and no progression. Patti

    Hey Diane!
    We were actually going to go see Avatar in 3D and it was sold out! then we tried to get tickets for Sherlock Holmes, which was also sold out, so we ended up not seeing a thing, so we're going to go to the mall tomorrow, and I told Shana we'd just try and see Avatar tomorrow late afternoon sometime, the matinees are usually ok to get into.

    I hope I'm not having a gall bladder attack. It actually started feeling good alittle while ago, it's only when I breathe in deep that I feel a sharp pain, very strange.

    I remember my onc also saying there will be pain from chemo because of the chemo fighting the cancer, and this pain isn't that bad, it just comes when I take a deep breath, like yawning as well, it's not a constant pain or anything. My doctor likes the scans more then the CEA levels for looking progression, but she is watching the tumor markers she said, she doesn't seem concerned with CEA's as much as the scans. My CEA's are up and down anyway. I started out with 1400 when first diagnosed, and last I heard I was like at 60. The numbers are always confusing to me.

    GAS Pains sound the same. Lay on your right side for 10 minutes, then on your left then on you back, raise your knees and you should know! God Bless!

    For every little thing, the first fleeting thought is cancer. Then I remember I was a wreck before cancer. Hopefully it's nothing!

    How are you feeling? I was reading back over your posts- it seems like Jan.17 is a long time to wait! If you are still having that pain I think a call to the onc. would be in order? After all, this is why those folks get the big bucks! It can't hurt to call and might give some peace of mind or get it checked out quicker. I haven't seen anything in these storied that said, I went and had something checked out too early, should've waitied a few weeks!

    Thanks for your post! I actually feel really good, the only time I feel the twinge of pain is when I inhale really deeply, I been sleeping good, and eating good, and don't feel any pain except that little tinge of pain in the right lower side, sometimes I feel it, sometimes I don't. I get the scan on Jan 14, which is ok, I don't mind waiting, I think if it is something, it won't grow too fast in a couple weeks, I know I have a feeling of the cancer spreading one day, and scared to hear it..but will come to terms to expect it, it's scary, but I think I'll be ok!

    I don't really no about the pain you are having. John had the pain before he had the colon surgery. It was his liver. His pain in his right side has gone away with the Chemo.
    He thought it was his galbadder. That is how they found his cancer. Don't worry. Glad you are having the scan on the 14th. Best to you Paula

    Sorry to hear that you have more pain in your right side. Could it be that with the holidays and the play and all that you have just really overdone it. Sounds like you have been very active lately and I can see how that can be causing it. If you have an oncologist appointment coming up maybe you could ask then. Hope all else is going well.

    Hello Donna, I feel the same pain in my lower right side too, just started about 3 days ago. Its where I had the surgery. I joined 'the fear not club' because I found that since the surgery to remove the cancerous mass in my caecum, my mind wanted to fear whenever i had a pain. I will share it with my oncologist on Wednesday when I get my fanny pack disconnected but I just imagined that war is going on in the area of the evil invaders being destroyed and my body is just feeling it since its the battle field that this war is taking place. WE will win though!!!!
