I woke up yesterday morning and my left calve hurt. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and had it wrapped in a heating pad when my husband asked me why I had done that. When I told him that it hurt he asked me if I thought it might be a blood clot I froze I have been sitting a lot not to mention taking naps. I know that I should call the Dr. but I still have presents to wrap for my kids and husband. I don't want them to keep me overnight especially tonight but I'm scared too. I did take a muscle relaxer last night just incase but it didn't help either. What to do, what to do?

    Blood Clot!
Call your MD! It's not something to play with. If it is a blood clot, you need to be seen ! You don't want it to break lose.I don't want to scare you! Hopefully it's nothing! Please let us know what it turns out to be. Hope you're feeling better and you have a great holiday. HUGS!! Cathy

    If you haven't already done

If you haven't already done it, you need to call your doctor. I have had blood clots, and my doctor was able to treat me in his office rather than going to the hospital. It could be nothing, but you are describing my symptom.

    Went to ER
I called the Dr. today finally and he told me to go to the ER and he would order a sonogram and let them know I was coming in. So I went and yes it was a clot. They decided that they would treat me at home. So lucky me gets to give myself a shot in the thigh twice a day for however long it takes to dissolve as well as taking cumadin (blood thinner). So I would just like to say thank you to all of you for pushing me to call my doctor. The pain kept getting worse and I realized that I can't afford not to call. Thank you, you all saved my life.

Helen, Thank you for going to the Hospital. Bad things happen when those clots break lose and I didn't want you to go thru that just because you didn't want to miss Christmas. You did the right thing and you will be fine! Take care of yourself. Remember, You're #1. HUGS!!! Cathy

I'm glad you went to the ER.
I'm glad you went to the ER. Now, just be sure to follow doctor's orders. I didn't follow them as well as I should have and it meant a much longer recovery period. I'm fine now, and you will be too.
