thanks
Mike,
Thanks for the check in means a lot. Up till sunday was doing great. sleeping well and had to drank two shakes that day. voice was fading a bit. Monday I got back from the rad. (#25 of 33) and I had a coughing attach. Don't need to tell you how that felt. Man was I in pain and sick to my stomach. It passed but scared me. I had a couple more that later and notice my Gums had turned completely white. At rad today i met with the dr. He was more concerned with my voice being almost gone so he wanted to put fluids in me so ended up at the hospital all day with an IV. Voice pretty much gone. In fact just had a attach just now. I cough for about 2 minutes hurts like hell and I spit a lot of flem. takes a few minutes to get over but then ok. I chemo left on the 22nd and last rad on the 24th. I am hanging in there. A little down from the coughhs and speaking but I know that it would start getting worse but I know in 3 weeks I should be starting to rebound. I hope you are doing well. How was your quarter pounder. LOL0 -

Hang in there! I had lost my voice for over a month. I had just a whisper, and had to get my Mom and husband to do all of the talking for me. Very frustrating!!! You'll get your voice by again soon.

Great to hear from you Kurt. Sorry about the coughing. When you already feel pretty used up already that sure can't be helping. I lost my voice for about 2 weeks during my treatment and just nodded and shook my head alot. I had to have fluids as well after chemo #2 (Banana bag 3 days in a row) Keep sipping something if you can. The goal line is right there in front of you. Dig in and get there! I have my first PET scan today at 5:00. It has been 2 months for me since last rad and chemo. Special diet yesterday and fast today but both my wife and I are looking for some good news. Quarterpounder was a little work to get down. Also have done the Big Mac (made me think of you) and even some pizza at a lunch meeting here at work. (6 weeks back now) Regards to your wife and the boys, count your blessings this holiday and finish this up. You will start to feel better after that last chemo gets through you. Take care and thanks for the update.

Just to let you know that all will get better. My husband is 11 weeks out, is eating meals and no more boost (taste is still a bit off), he is not longer so fatigued, has been pheasant hunting for 4 days in South Dakota, survived without me for a week while I went on a cruise with my girlfriends, met with his ENT today and he feels things are going great, will have a PET scan on Jan 5th - so that will really tell the story. BUT everything is soooooooooo much better, and it will be for you too once you get past the couple of weeks post rads. Keep on keeping on. PK0 -

Oct 31 was my one year out. And looking back at it all the month after radiation stopped was really bad hacking all the crap up.
But it only lasted for a few weeks the depression is the real battle ground. Im gonna be 54 and my son will be 4 and i am feeling great
occational panic . I went back on the Ativan about 2 months ago just one tab 2mg before bed. It has sure helped.
I am feeling stronger than i did before this started... quiting smoking and losing my sweet taste buds has helped so much..
I eat super healthy now what a difference. I feel like a better man in so many ways..0 -

Glad to hear you are doing good. A change in diet does the body good, also glad to hear you gave up the smoking as it does a lot of damage not only to your lungs but the hold body. Grate picture of you and the boy take care my friend you are still a young man with a lot of life to live.0 -
