OK, so it's not really bad but I've been at SK since 7:30 this morning and I STILL have not gotten my chemo! Everything has been running late and I had a feeling it would be a rough day when I went to get on the bus and noticed that my wife had not returned my Metro Card so I missed that bus then had to find a place to give me change! the city does look nice with a foot of snow in it though but I was supposed to be out of here by now and on my way to meet my niece and go see the tree at Rockerfeller Center. Not this year.

I'm not even venting, I'm just whining!

I've been building up to this I guess. Christmas time in the city is usually fun but everyone wants to get their chemo today and my Onc is off next week so they are cramming everyone in now. I was supposed to come in on Wed and get a double dose but I asked for Monday and only a single so it wouldn't ruin my Christmas with the side effects. I did not get to see the YouTube thing but I want to check it out (with a guitar in hand as you said)

    Whine Away Phil!
That sucks being there still, my place runs late at times as well, and hate when they get behind, that also means waiting longer for the home health nurse comes to disconnect you as well, when I was there a couple weeks ago, I heard the nurse next to me on another patient, say they were 23 patients behind! I was so glad I was able to get in on time, my infusion only take an hour and a half, but then there's another hour for waiting on the Emend to kick in, and then hoping to be able to get a blood draw from the port, but that doesn't always work anymore, we seem to have to wait on that drug and then let it sit there attached to the port for awhile, before they can even infuse me!

At least once they take me off the Irinotecan, I'll only get Avastin which takes only a half hour to infuse, then connect to the 5fu pump, and go home! and it will be every 3 weeks instead of every other week!

Hope they get you out of there soon Phil, and hope you can see the tree another day!

    Hugsss!

Hey Phill, I think it just may be a good day to see that song on Youtube. Today you just may need it. I'm thinking of you!!

    Phil,
I hope all went well yesterday (after the initial delay) and you are resting warm at home. Hope you feel well for Christmas as I know you want to enjoy it with your family.
    Take care.

    All Better
I didn't get done with chemo until 2:30. I missed my niece and the tree and all. Every once in a while things fall through the cracks in there, that was one of those days.

At least I'm done until Jan 6th. I am having a lot of trouble with split fingertips. I really have a rough time with that. Done all the remedies, Bag Balm, lotions & potions, liquid skin...

    Could be worse though...

    I'd whine, too.
You deserve to whine about things like this! I'm sorry you missed seeing the tree with your niece. That sounds like a lovely way to spend some time in the city. Much better than chemo!

Hope tomorrow and the rest of the holiday season will be much more pleasant.

    *hugs*

    Corn Huskers lotion....
When I was an insulator the calcium silica blocks would dry up my hands severely and the tips would crack. Corn Huskers Lotion would help greatly in softening the tissue and keeping it from splitting so much...not 100% but as close as possible.....Happy Holidays Bud.......Buzz

    Split fingers!
I'm with you on this one! My finger tips are covered with what I can only describe as "paper cuts"... Ouch. It really makes it tough to play the guitar! I'm using liguid skin pretty regularly, It seems to help.

    Be well.., Rob; in Vancouver

If my left pinky didn't fail me, Phil
I'd join you on the bass (Gibson SBO, bought new, Feb, 1969 to replace Zimgar, circa 1964)but without use of pinky, lost desire to play as I noticed/heard the difference. Haven't strummed guitar in quite some time neither. I goto Miamonides Cancer Center in Brookly, went yesterday and Manhattan was probably horrendous Monday-worked in city 33 years. That video is fantastic, by the way, simple yet so moving and sincere....Feel better, Steve
