taking break from chemo

Break
I wouldn't worry as some people have to go that long between treatments because their blood counts aren't good or high enough. I was up to over 3 weeks in between treatments for the last three treatments because my counts were so low. Chemo is cumulative so it will remain in your body for some time to come. Enjoy the holidays without having that chemo.

Still progress while on chemo as well, so even if you take a break, it shouldn't matter. I'll be going on doing it once every 3 weeks with just Avastin and 5fu, and that kind of scares me, since I was doing the folfiri every other week, and I wonder if it will just progress like that, hope not though!
I did also hear that chemo stays in your body for a really long time, so it's still working, when you think it isn't
Hugsss!

HI
Hi, They are absolutely normal feelings. I am also given a break this month, and I feel the same way, but I look at it this way, I will feel well Christmas Day. My 40th birthday! and New Years! Not that we do anything, but at least I won't feel soooo sick. I also think your body need a break once in a while, just think how strong it will be to fight this Beast once we start up again!
Hugs

also taking a break
My husband is also taking 2 weeks off over the holidays; and I also have nightmares of the cancer progressing during the break. But he is on his 10th round of Folfox, 5FU and Avastin and he desperately needs a break. His blood work is all over the charts from week to week. I think the break is just as necessary for his mental health as it is for his physical health.0
