? unplanned chemo I did not take any pre chemo meds
Well last last night I run into my infusion nurse and I am in fact having chemo (slowly to watch reactions)
Normally I take pre pills 12 hours and 6 hours before, to prevent nausea etc.
Well neither I nor my caregiver thought about the pills last night, and i do not have any clue if I should be taking them or not, My best guess is yes, certainly I do not want to be sick, as I have not been ,
Anyone have a clue? I just took 5 of the 10 (should have been at 1 am and and 7am)
Anyone not taking pre chemo script? Any precautions I can take as I head into the city for after chemo? It will be a longday and a very long ride home.
as I see my rattling on above I now know I am nervous
Peace

call them
definitely call them! I forgot to take my pre-chemo meds once and they sent me home and made me come back the next day.

Call and ask
Call them and ask. For me there were no pre- meds (as in the day/night) before. With both A/C and now with Taxol, I got/get all the pre-meds right before infusion. I've had no nausea at all so that might have something to do with it but definately check with your Dr/CCI.0 -
Hoping it all goes well!Lynda53 said:thanks, it was only 7 am here, not open
now it is 930 and close to too late(called to work)
well here's hopinig I do not get sick
peace all
Lynda, I hope it goes well. It's really frustrating when they don't give us complete information about what we're going to be doing at an appointment, how long it will take, etc., isn't it?! We'll all be praying not only that you don't get sick but also that your allergist can give you the meds without you having a serious reaction--GOOD LUCK!

Definitely call
I'm on Taxotere/Cytoxan and the pre-chemo meds - steroids (as explained to me) weren't for nauseau but to help with allergic reactions. I will pray that all goes well for you today. Sending ((((hugs)))) your way. Lola0 -
update:no chemo,only met for desensitization
Really great allergist/desesitization specialist.
What it is, they break down the taxotere
(like some bartenders so to speak)
Then infuse the doses to trick the body and brain,
One dose desenstitizing is supposed to work and then back on full stuff. It must be done in ICU and I had to change locations, but that will be done soon and then onward and upward!
It works on all but 6%, but that is good for me, for I will not stop breathing this time!
Thanks all and Peace0 -
