It's been a while since I've been on the boards. I had a recurrance of bc after 5 years
and the second whirlwind occured. I was supposed to have radiation and hormone therapy. I ended up having surgery again on July 31st. They removed most of my sternum and part of my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th ribs on my right side. I had previously had a radical masectomy so they had to do chest wall reconstruction. I was in the hospital for 7 days. I ended up having to have another surgery on August 31st for my sternal wound as I had a hole the size of a dime in my incision.

Since then I have had 5 of my 6 rounds of cytoxan and taxotere. I'm really tired and just needed to vent. I ended up having a CT scan yesterday after chemo as I was having pain in my chest on the left side for about 5 days. Thankfully it came back okay, just fluid left over from the surgery making my life miserable. I'm looking forward to Christmas but I just can't wait to feel like myself again. Just the other day I said to myself I remember feeling like this last time (exhausted). Thanks for letting me vent. Good luck to all starting or going through treatment. It does get better. I know that for a fact.

    It's that dreadful 'R' word, 'recurrance', which we all fear to hear. I hope you get back to feeling like yourself again soon. Hugs.

    You have gone through so much... so glad that you posted.. venting is a good thing, so you just vent away, and know that you are in my thoughts.

    Sorry that you having to go thru this again. Wish there was some way to kill the beast once and for all. You're venting in the right place. Throw a few dishes if you feel like it. I'd probably want to beat something up. Hoping for better days for you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

    you have had a ton of surgery no wonder you feel tired . I have taken to visualizing my body being normal again because its easy to feel and fear you will never feel well again. hugs and wellness vibes to you . vent away people here are awesome

    So sorry to hear about your recurrance.. having it once is bad enough.. I'm glad to hear that your cat scan turned out good. I hope that you rest peacefully knowing you are being prayed for...

    I feel for you
    I know we all dread those words, and hope we never have to deal with them. The one good thing is that there is always someone hear to listen, some have dealt with it, others worry about it (like me). Sending a hug your way.

    You went through all that wretched surgery and your scan came back OKAY!! What a fabulous Christmas gift!!! BE EXHAUSTED . . . let everyone else do the work. Lay back in front of a fire and/or the tree, enjoy the lights and HEAL! Imagine a crown on your head that signifies, "I beat it AGAIN!"

    This is sad - Praying for you
    I hate reading that someone has a recurrence. I feel so bad for you and I am so sorry. You fought this once and you can do it again. Vent here all you want if it helps you!

    OH my gosh
    You sweet thing, vent and vent some more. You have undergone more than one can imagine and still coming out on top. Get plenty of rest, surround yourself with postive things, any thing your heart imagines, you deserve. We have a very big and powerful God yet this wonderful God is tender, caring and loving to us. He knows our aches and pains, he knows what we are dealing with and how we feel. He is working in your life right now and will give you the desires of your heart. I will be keeping your in my prayers. Happy holidays and I really hope you get showered with all kinds of love and good things.

    venting is a good thing.....
    I too have just been diagnosed with BC again. It has metastisized to my bones. Just rest, relax and I will be praying for you.

    I've learned that not only is venting is accepted here it is encouraged. Seems there is someone on this board 24/7 and reply's come quickly. You have a great attitude for all that you've been through ... keep that up! Have a very Merry Christmas!
