2009 XMAS AND 2010 NEW YEARS MESSAGE BOARD

Hey Everyone,

Just a short message from me and place for all of you to post Xmas and New Year's Greetings to all on this site and to all CSN Staff as well. No words can ever describe how imporatant this site is to so many survivors and their families and friends and for that we are all, I'm sure I can speak for all, truly blessed and greatfull.

I hope you all have a very Merry Holiday Season and I wish you all the best of health possible in 2010 and many many more to come. Thank you all for your support, caring and friendship in my personal battles and triumphs.

Feel free to post your greetings here if you wish.

    I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and a Happy Holiday whatever your belief may be. If it were not for this site, I think I would have gone insane or worse. I want to thank you all for being there for me at a time when my world fell apart and you all know because you have been there in one way or another. May the New Year be a little easier and a little brighter for us all.

We might not always agree on everything but the love, caring and respect always comes to the front and is the priority. I think the world could learn a bunch from the people here.     I especially want to thank so many members who are always in the chatroom and the forum boards who I have come to know and love, I started chemo 2 weeks ago and have 43 weeks to go of it and honestly dont know what I would have done if it wasnt for you guys helping me along and being there for me to talk too.I truly appreciate you all.

    Merry Christmas to All!
    I have many things for which to be grateful this holiday season. My friends, on this board and in my non-computer world, and cousins keep me from feeling truly alone. My parents taught me how to survive on my own. They left me my childhood home within walking distance of everything I need except, of course, my workplace and doctor. Although my present salary is below what is considered the poverty line, my employer has an excellent group health plan covering my tumor marker screenings, CT scans, MRIs, and colonoscopys (which is why I am paid so low, but I'm not complaining!).

    I just heard that the U.S. Senate just passed their version of the Health Insurance Reform bill, putting those cancer patients without health insurance closer to getting affordable life-preserving coverage without discrimination because of "pre-existing condition". As one who previously was denied coverage while working as an independent contractor, I consider this a tremendous Christmas gift for those of my brothers and sisters who can't obtain insurance and access to treatment because of the discriminatory practices of insurers. I pray that no cancer patient will ever have to endure both the injury of cancer and the injury of discrimination again.

    Christians, Jews, Muslims, and non-monotheistic persons of faith all agree on a time of year to be at peace, remembering why we are here in the first place. No matter what your belief or, even, non-belief, I wish you and your loved ones, living and deceased, Love, Courage, and Peace of Mind during this Holiday Season and in the better New Year.

    Happy Holidays to all, Thank you all so much for ya support, Michelle, Cindi, Fay, Steve and slickwilly ya have been great, We went to Midnight Mass for Jack, it was hard but we got through it, As you know Jack was a drummer and want they said the story about the little drummer boy and then dedicated the mass to Jack we all had out moments, He is missed so much, But I keep going to church every week it seems to get me through the next week I actually started crafting again, Im going to start making booties for the cancer center out her in Texas so they can give them to there patients, My way of giving back to them for all the help they gave to Jack, and if any of ya would like a pair for your self or your loved ones let me know, they keep your feet warm, Thank you again for everything have a very bless day, and to all of us who have lost our loves one this year, Im praying for all of us that next year will get a little easier, and to those who are still fighting the fight, As Jack would keep going and don't give up and even when it comes to the point that treatment is not working, Jack would say quality over quanity, but never loose your spirit, and I have to say Jack never lost it,

    I know I already posted my greeting but I had to say it again on January 1st, 2010. WOW, 2010 it just sounds so futuristic to me. I guess that is because I have been on this wild and crazy planet for awhile and can't help but think back to key moments in history that I was a part of in my own small way.

    One that stands out is walking home from junior high school crying because they announced at school just before lunchtime that John F. Kennedy had just been assassinated. I was walking home for lunch and couldn't hold back the tears. I was in no way political at all but the masses mourned for this popular well loved President.

    I remember John Lennon being shot and I remember watching tv as they broadcasted the first lunar landing and the first step of man on the moon.

    Now it's 2010 and cancer has been part of my life too. HAS BEEN, IN THE PAST, NEVER TO RETURN is the way I am looking at it. My wish for all of you is to have it fade into your pasts too and never return again. Let's send out good vibes to have 2010 be the year that cancer finds a cure.

    A healthy and happy New Year to one and all. Wow, 2010, can't get over that. lol

    Hi Blue. I have talked to you more in the last couple days then my wife ha ha. And because I am old like you I can remember all those moments in history. OHH I was just teasing you blue. I remember my father putting sand bags over the basement windows during the Cuban Missile Crisis. But I also have the better memories of parking on a quiet side road in my 71 Plymouth Cuda with my wife ha ha. OHHH to be young again! And I was wrong about being married 33 years. Its 34 years. Holy don't tell my wife I got it wrong again. I remember starting a family and being stressed out when I learned we were having twins. Holy the cost of disposible diapers put me in the poor house. As time passes some of the things I thought were so bad turned out to be good things. Heck I wouldn't give my twins back for nothing ha ha. I hope everyone has a good year ahead. Blessings Slickwilly

    Oh Slick from being married 34 years have you learned nothing from your wife? Never kid a woman about her age. lol. Too funny.

    Yup to be young again, not that I'm old you understand. lol. I remember, vaguely, but I do remember waking up each day with pain the furthest thing from my mind. I said I 'vaguely' remember that. Sheesh. But like you I have more happy memories than cwappy ones so that's the important thing.

    I know that 2010 will be a good one for you Slickster, I can feel it in my bones - ow. lol. Come to think of it I can feel everything in my bones, rain, snow, heat, stress blah blah blah. lol.
