In Surgery

Hi all. My hubby is in surgery. He went in at 8:29am -- about 1 1/2 hrs. so far. Please say a prayer for everything to go well and for an uneventful recovery.

    You guys made it through!!! That's so great. My prayers are coming for a safe and speedy recovery!! What a great Christmas present!!!

    Best of luck with your husband's surgery. My Mom's is on Jan 4
    My Mom's surgery is tomorrow. We are all really nervous but my 4 year old keeps telling me that his Oma will be fine in the hospital! I would appreciate all your prayers. I'm sure I'll be asking all kinds of questions to y'all when she is recuperating. Love & prayers to all of you wonderful people!!!

    Be patient-stay positive---it is a long stressful day--and THEN the recovery begins! And that is not a picnic either. Just ask lots of questions to the doctors, nurses and try to get them to see your mom as HERSELF, not just any other patient. I really think the nervous habit of my dad talking to all his staff from the beginning endeared them to him---even though it aggravated my mom at times! (He had surgery at Duke 12/7) My dad pushed to walk with a rolling walker they had on his floor (a cardio thoracic surgery floor). It was great becasue he could lean on it which helped if he had to cough (he would have fallen down i think if he didn't have it!) and we could hang all the tubes he had (catheter, drain, IVs, etc). Has any one told you about those?

    Anyway---we're all here rooting for her and your family!!

    Dear Nanse B.,
    Just said a prayer and will be thinking of you tomorrow. My husband had surgery 12/10. He's making progress everyday. This is a slow process, don't be discouraged. If we all could have the faith of a 4 year old...
