Thank you to everyone on the board. I just wanted to let you know that sadly, my husband passed away at 3:00 a.m. this morning. I don't think I could have gotten through the past several months without all of you.

Thank you for everything. We never got the chance to call the doctor you told us about. In the end this cancer for Peter was a monster! The tumors just grew by the moment - you could actually see it day to day. The tumors in his nose were hanging down to his lip and the one in his mouth was the size of a baseball. The one on his neck looked like someone implanted 2 golf balls side by side. Even the funeral home said in all their years they had never seen anything like this.

    i have no words
I dont think there is anything that I can say to express my sympathies to you or to help you in these first new hours that he is gone. I am so sorry for your loss, as I know you did not have alot of time as a married couple. But you are true to your vows, in sickness and in health till death parted you. I bet you didnt think you were as strong as you were in his last weeks, days, and hours. He was remarkably fortunate to have you as his life partner no matter what was happening with him. Based on your description, I wonder if there is some relief you feel for him.
I often wondered how you were doing, and how your husband was dealing. Thank you for allowing all on this board to know your very personal update. Your posts were one of the first I read after signing on. I would think you would still be able to offer insight and experience despite the outcome, so please dont disappear.

THank you again for letting us all know....

    Dear New Bride,

I have just now retraced your journey and am so sorry to hear your news. This horrible disease does not discriminate and your story has touched me and made me more grateful for each day and I am so much more thankful for my outcome from treatments.

Sometimes our questions cannot be answered on this earth.

My thoughts are with you and your family as you pass through this difficult period of loss and I am wishing that you find peace and brightness in your future.

    Sincerest regards

    Thank You
New Bride, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my husband of 11 years on Oct. 21 after a year long fight (and I do mean fight) with head and neck cancer. We did all the right things but once the tumors in his mouth and nose started metastisizing, there was nothing more that could be done. He was so brave, never complained. Let this be a lesson to make me a stronger person. I was so thankful I retired in April and was able to be his care giver during this time. I have not commented on this sight for several months but I want everyone to know they have been such an inspiration to me and pray that everyone keeps up the fight. My prayers are with each and everyone of you.

My heart is breaking for you
    Dear New Bride,

May you be encircled by friends and family, especially during these days, weeks, months, and years ahead.
May you find peace in the knowledge that your husband loved you dearly.
May you remember your happy days together more than the painful days.
May it comfort you to know that your husband is now at peace and without pain.

    Big hugs and much love,
    Karen

    thank you all
    Dear New:

Just read about your loss. I am so sorry. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Again I am so sorry and I know how it is especially at this time of year. We lost my brother the day after Thanksgiving last year (he was a Viet Nam Vet and had lots of problems and was in the VA Hospital from June 2008 until he died 11/28/08; we had cared for him for 12 years) and my husband started his chemo on Dec. 1 of last year. He also sends his sympathy. God be with you.

    Love,

    Jan and Charlie Trinks
