Keep on Fighting
It sounds like you have a great mindset to not let this get you down. I am not sure, but it seems the odds are small that in addition to the colon your husband has lung cancer as well. Was he a smoker? In any case, there are lots of things that can be done for the lung mets, I have heard Cyberknife is excellent for lung mets. I am sorry you are going through all of this. I will add you and your husband to my long prayer list! Blessins, Marie0 -

I'm so sorry to hear about this! I hope they can get that tumor out! Did this happen while he was still on chemo? or has he been off it for awhile? Just don't lose the hope, alot of good technology out there for lung cancer. Did you hear that Bryant Gumbel had surgery for it? he looks great! No more pity parties!! you need to have a fighting party now! Is there an actual difference between metastatic disease and carcinoma?? I thought it was pretty much the same thing.. cancer.
You will be in my prayers, and positive energy coming your way!

sorry
Hi Cheryl,
I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's latest news. I'm glad you're both taking the attitude of "being up for fighting this". I know how tough and discouraging it is, though. Keep looking into all treatment opportunities that are out there. Listen diligently to your husband's doctor, but don't limit yourselves to just what he/she says. There's lots out there that can be used, tried, etc. New chemos and treatments, in addition to RFA, Cyberknife, stereotactical radiation, etc. I'm sure there's even more than that- keep fighting and keep your ears and eyes open for other treatment options.
God bless,

Thank you everyone for well wishes. We go today at 9:30 for Pet CT. Donna, he finished chemo and radiation on November 13th. The way I understand it is that if the tumor on the lung is a primary tumor then that means he has lung cancer in addition to colon/rectal cancer. If the cells came from the colon cancer then it is called metastatic from the colon. This gets more confusing by the minute but it is just another bump in the road that we need to deal with.0
