9-14" coming my way
You can all come and enjoy the snow with Jake and me anytime in the great state of Maine.
We will surely have a white Christmas.

If all that rain had been snow wonder how much we would have had. 2ft?
An inch of rain equals a little over 6 inches of snow, so it'd be a little over a foot. This factoid coming from a resident of Syracuse, NY, the snowiest city in the US. I know it's the snowiest, because the internet told me so...and I believe everything that's written on the internet (LOL).

Cant say I'm envious, but it
Cant say I'm envious, but it sure sounds like you and Jake are going to have a heck of a good time in that winter wonderland of snow. As a little girl in Cleveland, Ohio I remember letting the fresh falling snow fall on my tongue. After eating snow, I would then look for the different shapes of the snowflakes, and then lie down and make the famous angels in the snow.
Your maine snow has brought back some childhood memories. I remember one year my mom and I had packed a box of goodies for a less fortunate family. The box was fairly large and I tried to help mom carry it with all the muscle of a lanky 8 or 9 year old. Mom lost her balance in the snow, and as she slipped to the snowy ground the box went flying. We just sat on our wet butts and laughed till we cried.
Merry White Christmas to you and Jake.0 -

I remember the beauty of the snow because I grew up in Michigan where we had plenty of snow. Enjoy your day with Jake and have some fun!!
actually I'm at work.
Jake's school was cancelled so I dropped him off at my mother's house and will pick him up later.
We are suppose to have wind gusts of up to 50 mph. I know it is awfully cold outside and I can't hardly see the buildings across the road.
Jake and I will have fun later bundled up playing int he snow and then inside for hot cocoa--yummy.0 -

Here in Ithaca, NY we had 6 inches of snow and three hours of sleet starting around 6:30. My husband has lost his job and thank God drove me to work. I teach and our school was not even delayed. The roads were horrible. I have surgery on Friday and don't dare go outside with my kids for fear of getting a cold But I will be waiting by the fire with hot chocolate for them whan they come in. Have a great day everyone.0 -
Rain rain and more rain
Here in the DC/Balt area we are just having plain ole rain. Every other day it rains. Please say a quick prayer for my brother and his girlfriend on their way down from Oneonta, NY. They have to come down I83 to I81 and he said its very icy.
Thanks!

If I could put icicles in this post, trust me I would. lol It is freezing here today. The winds are horrible. I think they said up to 45 MPH! I had my husband take care of everything outside before he went to work to make sure that I wouldn't see it flying past the windows. We have only had a little flurry and I am praying that is it as with these winds, we would have a whiteout blizzard. Thank goodness I am home. So, I have a fire going in the fireplace, a hot cup of tea and on my favorite website with all of you!!!! Hope everyone is safe and warm today!

Hi Margo, we dodged the bullet here in Missouri but Iowa got clobbered and I guess you got the rest. We don't get as much snow as you do but we get a lot of icing. I'd rather have snow any day. Our temps today are around 22 degrees and going down to 12 tonight. Winds gusting to 50 miles, some people have lost their electricity, which means no heat. We don't have any water because a water main froze last night and burst. We're staying inside and keeping toasty warm as long as we have heat. Enjoy all that white stuff!0 -

We've got rain here now, but, maybe some snow. I am hoping NOT!
Putting marshmallows in my cocoa right now!

Claudia, I was thinking along the same lines. I haven't been on here long enough for you all to know me well enough to make a comment like that. I'm glad you did though. And, I don't believe your comment about the height of the elves.................really!!!! LOL.0 -

A foot of frozen snow, and ten below this morning in Alaska, day dreaming of leaving for Costa Rica in Jan. I love a warm home with christmas tree lights. Stay warm!0 -
Thankfully, we misssed most
Thankfully, we misssed most of the snow this time (we had 3 major blizzards within 2 weeks last late spring). Most areas only got 4 -5 inches s0me more but not bad at all. It is bitterly cold though - just checked my indoor/outdoor thermometer and it's now -0.8F and supposed to get worse tonight. Good luck with staying warm and dry!
