Colonoscopy -Gavilyte-n solution

Ok, so I have a colonoscopy scheduled for Monday, went today to pick up my meds and they handed me a gallon jug to fill with water...Gavilyte, I have to start drinking it at noon the day before. Anyone drink this before? Is it horrible? Tell me it isn't.

A WHOLE GALLON, what are they thinking!!!!!

    That is the ever present,, ever ready, old fashion Golightly
    and it is the exact opposite if its name.....You will not be able to drink it all....it will come out ever orifice you have by the time you get a gallon down...See if they will do the magnesium citrate instead...Its 3-8 oz bottles that taste like lemony water...YUM...LOL...The golightly will do the trick and yeah, it taste a lot like a chocolate milkshake.....NOT........Best of luck on the cocktail.....{{{hugs}}} but not to tight especially with a gallon of golightly in ya......little {hugs} ....The scope will be fine..prayers for good outcome....just trying to lighten it up a little for ya....Buzzard

    I took something called HalfLytely for my bowel prep
    in the pineapple flavor (this stuff comes with 4 flavor packets)and wasn't too bad til I got to 6th or 7th glass when my heartburn kicked in so I took my time finishing it. Then the floodgates opened. Good luck with your colonoscopy and hope results are good....Steve

    Ugh!
    That Golytely stuff was awful! I had Pineapple flavor, the texture was kind of thick and syrupy to me, it was nasty, I drank almost to the bottom, and just couldn't get the rest of it dowm. Good Luck Nana, and I will be sending out the card to the soldiers that my daughter sent some cards to them as well! I sent one to Jason, and told him you said Hi as well ;)

    Now is time to start on my cards to the list here :)

    There is one lemon packet hanging on the jug. phewwwwwwww I am going to throw up!

    My husband just took the stiches off my port incision, he almost got kicked where it COUNTS!

    Awww, it's nothing...
    I just sent about 30 or so. Wish I could afford to send more, my daughter even wrote some out, and put cute little color pictures in hers. But anytime on the list, maybe we can do it again next year!

    That stuff you have to drink is nasty but do what you have to do. I had a colonoscopy in November and the stuff I had to drink was so different that a few years ago. I had to mix Gatorade with Miralax, went down pretty easy, just used Lemonade flavored Gatorade. Good luck and just hold your nose and drink it down. Tina

    Fleet recalled
    Called the doctor and they told me that the Fleet bottle that I used last year was recalled and this is what I have to use and drink it all between noon and 7 pm. Wonder how it mixes with wine. :-) Bottoms up!! Got to have a sense of humour here!

    fleet recalled" that would be a relief....that is all I have ever been allowed to use by my surgeon but it gets worse every time. Last time i got the first bottle of fleet and down and the second one up!!!

    Yes a little humour...probly good with a little wine whine
