chemo hiccups
On this cancer journey (or battle) there are the little things that pop up that are a pain in the midst of the big things.
**** is on the chemo pump right now and he has the hiccups. He woke up with them last night and then has had them since waking up this morning (4 hours so far). I called the onc and he is prescribing Baclofen. Anyone have experience with hiccups of this drug? I read hiccups can be caused by steroids, chemo drugs.....
Thanks for any info.
Thinking of all of you.
Aloha,
Kathleen

is he on folfiri treatment?
Brant had nasty hiccups for a few days since starting irinotecan. He used baclofen and that worked. He said it was one of the worst side effects from chemo ever. Hope the baclofen helps!

I been on this for awhile, and have never had the hiccups from it, but have heard it could be a side effect from others, I hope it stops soon, I know how annoying hiccups are, I also hope the Baclofen works as well, you will both be in my prayers!
Hugsss!

Hi Kath and ****....well I have to say the hiccups were one thing I did not have as side effect. I hate them though....they are so upsetting to the whole system. I hope the new drug works.
all the best to you both

Thanks everyone. It helps to know that others have been through the hiccups and that they do go away. **** is on Folfori + Avastin and he began to get them at 3 in the morning the first night. He took the baclofen and it has helped. He had them for 4 hours this morning and then the hit again and then he took the meds and it helped.
Take care all.
