Thank you to everyone who has shared their experience on this board.Your posts have been more help to me than I can say.I have read them all since finding this site a few days ago.I was biopsied 10/16/09.Looked at all options and decided to get this gland out of me.Urologist agreed.Had 9 of 12 cores Positive. 3 Gleason @6 & 6 Gleason @7. Bone scan and CT both clear.Age 65 and otherwise fit and healthy.I sincerely wish all Brothers in this fight a complete CURE.

    Good luck Ken
I am fresh off of my surgery (Nov. 17th), which went much better than even I thought it would, so be brave because hopefully it will go better than you think also. I wish you the best and keep all of us informed as to how it went.
    Cheers

    Hi HN,
I had my robotic on the 7/11 and feel pretty good to be honest.
Cath comes out on Tues (had a slight surgery leak, nothing major)
The surgery itself was nowhere near as bad as I was making it out in my head
and was tentatively walking next day.
    Good luck mate

    Good luck
Good luck my friend..Based on all I have read I suspect you will do quite well. As for me, I go for my first visit( tommorow) to the urologist after my GP discovered a PSA of 5.02..so I am a bit apprehensive too.

Let us know how you do.

I had my surgery on November 6 and it was really not bad at all. Only took one pain killer and had the cath out in 4 days. Still some incontinence but erections within a week. I think the anticipation is the worst part. Hand in there it will be fine.

    Ken,
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Believe me and all the others on here, once you get on the other side of surgery you will wonder why you were so worried. Had my Davinci in August and am doing great at 3.5 months post surgery.

As you probably know the Gleason 7's need to be taken care of! My over all path came back as Gleason 3+4 (7) post surgery.

WOW! that is a speedy recovery. Did you have DaVinci? I am approaching 7 months post DaVinci and have not had an erection. I am not giving up as my wife suggested more frequent sex!!!

Good luck . Nerves are a part of the process. I had surgery on Sept.3rd and it was my first of any health problem. I wasnt as nervous about the surgery as the following path report.

So far so good I too had 5 out of 6 cores cancer and my gleason was 3+4=7. My path came back no positive margins so so far so good. I also wanted the cancer out as radiation is always an option if needed.

Good luck and my prayers are with you.....Nick age 52

A sincere thank you to all.Today is first day on line since I came home Tuesday.I too have tolerated the Surgery much better than the Catheter.I,m supposed get it remove this Monday.Yea.My Surgeon called Friday and said the Path.report was GOOD.does not appear to outside of it and the Margins were clear.Gleason stayed at pre-op level of 7. I will continue to be a member of this special group and keep y,all up to date and follow every member.I agreed to join a PCa research being done at the Moffit Cancer Center over in Tampa. If I can contribute anything to them finding a cure then count me in. Some good info for y,all. My brother had his removed 15 years ago at age 56 and still is clear. Ken
