Friday Riddle*
We all do have a lot to be thankful for even if at times we may not feel that way.
Nudgie is out of town and asked if I would post a riddle today. After much thought, I've decided to ask an age old question instead. It can also be seen as a riddle too I think.
No Google or Internet searches allowed, not that they would help anyway ;-)
What, if anything, do YOU feel is the meaning of life?
*Nudgie is NOT responsible of the thoughts or ideas of the stand-in riddle dude. I'm not even sure if I am responsible either. I consumed too much organic, free range, breast fed, home-schooled turkey yesterday.

LIFE
Re:
"What, if anything, do YOU feel is the meaning of life?"
"LIFE", that 53 year old magazine meant a lot to me through the years.
From Alfred Eisenstaedt’s photographs, to common box camera
free-lance contributors, the pictures were supurb!
It was considered the leading photojournalism magazine, and rightfully so.
It's gone now, except for it's web presence.
Life to me, meant quality journalism, and I miss it.

Alright!
So far, all of the answers are great! Even better than I hoped for!
Here is an answer to that question that I really like.
It's from JC himself!
"Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning."
(Joseph Campbell)
Kate, great answer.
John and Greg, you guys cracked me up! Thanks
;-)
I'm waiting for someone to say that "Mikey" knows the meaning of Life (cereal)0 -

I think the "meaning of life" can only be defined by each individual. For me, the meaning of MY LIFE is primarily family, friends & the relationships I have developed as well as a life "well-lived" with intent, joy & integrity.

Is this all we have to show Nudgie?
Come on, doesn't life have meaning to you all?
I know it's not my business but if you can share your bowel movements with everyone why not this?*
I don't want to have to resort to the Chicken question again... but I will if forced to.
:-)
*of course no one has to answer this. I'm just trying to get some dialog going here.

(and it still hurts inside when I laugh) but you're right too....."you can share your bowel movements with everyone why not this?" And I'm guilty as charged, too.....Steve0 -
the meaning of life
My thoughts are that we are put on this earth to live in a way that pleases and gives glory to God our Creator. Not everyone agrees on what way to live accomplishes that, but I believe that the Bible (specifically the new testament of the Bible)is our "manual" on how to live.
I continually fall short of the "manual's" requirements, but that's why I'm so glad that it's by grace we are saved and are to live. Ok- a little preachy sounding, but with an open ended question like this, I imagine we'll have a variety of answers.
Those are my thoughts are to the "meaning of life"!

Steve, I know it's a personal thing and often those subjects don't fit in that well on this thread. However, this IS a great thread here where we talk about topics like this.
No $hit talk allowed!
sorry, feel better

No problems at all with your answer. I asked a question expecting to hear what people believe. No holds barred. Not everyone should agree I think.
I think there are a lot of great guidelines in that manual too BTW

Meaning of life
I know that not everyone will agree with this, and I am o.k. with that, this is my personal belief. My meaning is to Love the Lord with all my heart and to love my neighbor as myself. For me, my belief in Jesus gives my life meaning.
See I did not google it!!!! (Although, I often do because I am not good at riddles!)

I always try to do the "love my neighbor as myself" part.
You can never go wrong with that unless one is a sadomasochist.
We're all not supposed to agree with you, it's what is the meaning of life "to you".

Meaning of Life
Wow this is a big question. I believe I am here to serve God and acknowledge that Jesus died for our sins. To be the best that we can with the gifts and talents that God has given each one of us. To love and cherish neighbor as thyself so that we can become more Christ like. If I can give to one person a lasting memory of my love and givingness (opps not a word but I made it one), then I will truly be happy when I go to that "mansion in heaven that was prepared just for me."
I know that when my mom passed away from cancer her car procession to the cemetery was over a mile long. If I had just a part of that, then I know I made an impression on people in my life and for me that would be just wonderful because I know that I meant something in their life.
Phil, that was a great thread that you posted on the other board. Never knew that was there. Guess I just don't venture from this site. Thanks for taking over the riddle.
