"Fixing things" for the Lord
I have not posted in a while. The last few months have been very difficult.
I wanted to let you know that my husband, Jim Steele, has passed on. He died on Thanksgiving Day eve November 24th of complications from his disease.
My husband was a mechanic and his talent and purpose in life was "to fix things." Unfortunately he wasn't able to fix his EC which he just couldn't seem to accept.
My daughters, son-in-law, his sisters, and I were able to spend his last day on earth sharing our memories and grief. While he wasn't able to interact with us, I believe he heard our every word and shared our tears and smiles. It was a great way to prepare him for eternally and us for our life without him.
Thank you all for the support and hope you have given us during our 10 month journey with EC. It was a godsend to me to find this site. God's peace and comfort and guidance to all of you as you continue this fight.
I ask a special blessing on the caregivers. I am convinced it is just as hard - if not harder - on you! I know it was for me.
Blessings,
Marleen Steele
wife of Jim A. Steele

My heart pours out to you......
Oh Marleen,
I am so, so sorry to hear of your loss. Jim was very fortunate to have had such a caring and supportive wife and family to help him along on his journey.
My husband is also a mechanic on school buses and he is now in trama ICU fighting for his life after having his esphogeal cancer surgery five days ago. He has pnuemonia, blood clots and now needs a trach because his lungs are too weak. I pray he is strong enough to heal.
I am new to this site and everyone here has been such a godsend to me, too. Thank you for letting us all know about Jim's passing. Please know we all have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers today and all the days to come. Please continue to keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. We care....
God bless you,

Marleen,
I am so sorry to here about the loss of your beloved Jim. My heart and prayers go out to you!
I hope you take comfort in knowing that you did everything you could for him as a caregiver and wife.
What I am finding weird is all three of our husbands were mechanics most of there lives.
I know that Jim is in a better place and I hope this gives you comfort.
Please keep in touch so we know how you are doing.
May God Bless and Keep you,

With Sympathy and Love
Marleen,
Thank you for letting us know about JIM, I am so sorry to hear of his passing, I know as a caregiver myself you did all you could do to make him comfortable, My darling husband is still recovering, and so far there is no cancer.
GOD has a place in heaven for all the EC patients, know I am and will keep you in all my prayers. Please continue to keep in touch and help others.
