HIPEC and insurance

Hi everyone,
Happy Thanksgiving Eve! I'm currently speaking with Dr. Martin Goodman at Tufts Medcial Center regarding possibly having the HIPEC procedure. He seems to think I'm a good candidate. I was wondering if those of you that have had this procedure had issues with your insurance providers?
Thanks!
Love,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth
I don't have experience with this and normally would not comment when I don't know.
But, I saw your name on the post and it made me feel good to see your name on it! I hope things are going as well as they can for you - I'm glad that the HIPEC might be a good option for you - you certainly deserve it!
I hope your insurance will cover all or some of the procedure if you go this route.
Anyway, happy holidays to you and I just wanted you to know that I still think about you and have wondered how you were doing.
I'm about 6-weeks out of my lung surgery and recovering, althogh it's been going slower than I thought, but just a day at at a time.
Take care for now and it's good to see you

HIPEC
Sorry, I don't have a clue but when you find out would you please post your results. We are currently researaching items like HIPEC. I thought you were going to Karmanos. It is Karmanos I am thinking of for a second opinion. If I remember, you are also in Michigan.
Hopefully you will find a treatment that works well and glad to see you posting.
Happy Thanksgiving - Tina0 -

Elizabeth,
I don't have anything to post regarding insurance and/or HIPEC. I believe that Jennifer (JenHopesPrays) posted a little while ago about a woman that battled her own insurance company to cover HIPEC. This woman has a website at http://www.theinsurancewarrior.com/. Perhaps that page be of some assistance to you.
Other than that I wanted to tell you that I think of you a lot. I am so happy to hear that the HIPEC procedure sounds like a good fit for you and I hope your insurance carrier covers it for you. From your post I couldn't tell whether they were already giving you a hard time or whether you are just anticipating that they will.
With a 4 YO daughter called Elizabeth I am partial to all others with the same name...
Keeping you in prayers and good thoughts,
Amy0
